I agree. My big worries are future border crossers, birthright citizenship and chain migration. The DACA people, who ended up here as kids ... I’m fine with Trump’s proposal.

I think the DACA that Trump will lay on the table....will be some DACA-lite offering. I think he’ll say that you (without arrests or convictions) can walk in and ask for the DACA deal, which means you get a visa/work-permit and a ten-year path to citizenship (if you didn’t get arrested or convicted). Part of this might include the fact that you need to establish you’ve been in the US prior 2017, and prove you haven’t registered to vote. With the pathway deal, you wouldn’t be able to vote until you fulfilled ten years of residency.
But the rockhard truth is that Pelosi and the rest will fight against this because it doesn’t go far enough. Once they do this ‘act’....Trump will get half of the Latino votes, and the whole game changes overnight.
There is so much hypocrisy on the right too. Their belief in free markets and capitalism only goes so far. It goes as far as when they can manipulate the market, this case labor, then all nationalism and free market mumbo jumbo goes flying out the window.

He can put out that those who are qualified for DACA have had to have never taken any kind of handout, done well in school, no problem with the law, and can support themselves. Then they can wait for 10 years minimum for citizenship

Other “reports” also include a deadline ... legislation on his desk in a period certain or DACA is off the table and he will declare a state of emergency.
If the Demonrats reject this deal ... it’s the demonrats who will suffer.
DACA legalization does not automatically mean citizenship. Two related but different questions.
An Obama judge will give them all instant voting rights .
And the Daca millions can sponsor. more millions .
Roberts will ignore the appeals.
I’m not so sure. Once the wall is built, DACA can be rescinded. Should be even easier to deport them once they’re in a database of some sort.
