RHYTH-MANIA: I LOVE A PARADE
From the Cotton Club to Hollywood, Warner Brothers added it to one of their early musicals. This is a more conventional approach.

We’ll trade ya for that 72! LOL! Sounds just right.
Sunday will be our coldest day and the rest of the week will be tolerable, though cool. Sunday will be rough due to the strong wind giving us wind chills in the low 20s, maybe the teens.
You could be right about the summer you’ll have. This warm during winter doesn’t bode well for summer down there, does it? Might want to plan your annual trip to WY for earlier than usual. :-)

Good evening, radu...any respite from the rain?
We’ve been fogged in all day.
At work, south of me, at times we couldn’t even see the huge Best Buy sign on the building across the alley. Traveling north coming home it seems to lift some until I turned east towards the mountains. Don’t know how it is downtown where you see with the cams.

RHYTH-MANIA: I LOVE A PARADE
In my series on Harry Warren, I told of the Warner Brothers cartoon division and its Merrie Melodies product line. This cartoon from 1932 features not one, but two, Harold Arlen tunes. There are things about this cartoon that border on the grotesque. Note that two of Walt Disneys cartoon characters make an appearance.

I really am thinking about it. Like going for 2 weeks in July. If we can find someone to feed the monsters for that long. LOL!
Get that extra pair of sox on this weekend, radu! Brrr!

Creepy! LOL! I couldn’t watch the whole thing. I did see the Disney characters. Did he draw this cartoon?

No, this came out of Warner Brothers. The WB animators were taking a dig at Disney.

RHYTH-MANIA: TRICKERATION
This 1932 recording is a genuine artifact. Its the jitterbug a decade before it came into being. Its quite a jazz performance. Cab looks a lot like Prince.

Yes, we had a break from rain today though it was cloudy. The sun peeked out a couple of times this afternoon, but only briefly. Rain’s comin’ in now, though, and we’ll have a little snow start falling around this time tomorrow night. NOT going to be a pleasant weekend.
I hadn’t checked the Anchorage cams but did just now. You aren’t kidding about fog! It’s still patchy .... midtown Seward Hwy. is foggy but around the Glenn Hwy. weigh station, it looks pretty clear. Forget a view tonight from Denali Towers. Pea soup from that height.
I hope it isn’t cold enough for the fog to lay a glaze of ice on the roads.
