The activists dont want any African American performers participating in the Super Bowl as a protest stand with Colin Kaepernick. Shes holding her ground
LOL, I remember that!
That was fun!
Proud Mary is one of the greatest performances ever!
Gladys is one my two favorite female singers from the 60s - 70s era. Neither One of Us still sends shivers up my spine with that performance. The other singer was Marilyn McCoo of the 5th Dimension. Just something about her voice.
I was going to post that! That was hilarious.
Man, did I have the biggest schoolboy crush on Marilyn McCoo.
Gladys, I'll trust in you.
She’s exercising white privilege. She’s more black than Colon K.
Best version of neither one of us . So much soul here - just killer. https://youtu.be/8FT5QF4JZUA
Sorry about that link to the wrong song. Thats what the app gave me. try this one https://youtu.be/n_Lh4MFiw08
The NFL will now probably disinvite her.
You beat me to it.
What would life be like without Gladys?
;)
“Previously a Baptist, in 1997 she was baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, following her son and daughter.”
So for all you here who trash Mormons, here’s a lady who is a decent person who is one. And until a couple of years ago, she was a neighbor of my SIL in Las Vegas.
The organization probably will rescind her invite. Having a patriotic American participating ... they simply cannot have that.
“But what do The Pips say?”
“I know you will.”
In her musical career, Gladys Knight conveyed a sense of poise and dignity. I suspect that, like many Black Americans, she genuinely and deeply loves our country and respects our national anthem.
