China Proposes Six-Year Buying Spree
Citing sources familiar with the matter, Bloomberg reported Friday that China has offered to significantly boost its purchase of U.S. goods over a six-year period in an effort to re-balance trade between the two superpowers. By increasing its annual imports from the United States, Beijing would reduce its trade surplus to zero by 2024. That would require a spending boost of more than $1 trillion.

China announces screw you democrats. Make America Great Again !!!!Maybe Xi and Trump really do have a good relationship. And, maybe Xi has decided it's better to work with Trump, who may be difficult from his point of view, but understandable, than the insane, thrashing, pro-Muslim, pro-LGBT, pro-instability Democrats, who are not only nuts, but dangerously unpredictable.

Well, at best they will partially comply until Trump is weakened or out of office. Have to look at the terms ... they may be back-loaded like an NFL free agent deal (where the player gets cut before the big pay-out).

Now that’s funny right there. Because it’s an empty promise. My prediction: China will be boosting US purchases only while the heat is on. After things settle down, it’ll be back to business as usual.

Promise to reduce the deficit, and then hope Trump goes away in 2020.
Sounds like a good plan for China.

I think they will buy key assets. Perhaps oil and gas companies, large tracts of land and food companies and farms.

Fine, but the IP theft and forced technology transfers are IMHO probably worse than the trade imbalance. I’d like to see what’s being done on those fronts.
To: dynoman
If that's how they want to resolve the issue. I'm good with it.
