I say he speak directly to the people from the Oval Office rather than through our dubious representation in the House, and go ahead, and send a copy of the address after the fact to her heinous.

Is President Trump trying to drive his supporters away? The only thing he should hand the Wicked Witch of San Francisco is a copy of the Executive Order that immediately starts construction of the wall.

And about four Americans killed, involved in our illegal activities in Syria? What the heck were they doing socializing in a town that still has fighters that haven't been purged? Why are they still there, after President Trump said he was bringing them home? My thought...is the US military presence there too cozy with those who are supposed to be our enemy? (ie ISIS-affiliated and Turks also illegally in Syria)

Each house has plenary authority to set its own rules. That surely implies management of time, manner, and place restrictions on its own chamber.

That means:

The President can't just show up and demand to be let in.

McConnell can't force the House to open at his direction.

Stretch has handed Trump a huge win on a silver platter; all that's required in the Constitution is that he deliver a "report" to Congress. If he wants a speech, he should give it in a friendly venue, then send Congress the transcript. That denies so-called "purple" Democrats the ability to look friendly and accommodating,

The hell with that, rent out a stadium and make it an event. Fill the bleachers behind him with Angel moms. We have thousands.
Have semi truck loads of cocaine bales on the stage surrounded by Marines with rifles.

Does the Senate chamber have the capacity to accommodate both houses of Congress for the SOTU?

Schedule it, and when the time arrive have the Sergeant at Arms bar all dems, "for security reasons". There'll be enough room.

As Kevin Williamson aptly put it during the Obama Administration:

“The annual State of the Union pageant is a hideous, dispiriting, ugly, monotonous, un-American, un-republican, anti-democratic, dreary, backward, monarchical, retch-inducing, depressing, shameful, crypto-imperial display of official self-aggrandizement and piteous toadying, a black Mass during which every unholy order of teacup totalitarian and cringing courtier gathers under the towering dome of a faux-Roman temple to listen to a speech with no content given by a man with no content, to rise and to be seated as is called for by the order of worship — it is a wonder they have not started genuflecting — with one wretched representative of their number squirreled away in some well-upholstered Washington hidey-hole in order to preserve the illusion that those gathered constitute a special class of humanity without whom we could not live.”

Trump should do himself and the rest of us a favor and kill this monstrous tradition off once and for all. Send Congress a video address, post it on YouTube, and then hold a rally in Michigan.

“Then we’ll be treated to the spectacle of Trump addressing the nation with an empty chair over his right shoulder, with Democrats no doubt engaged in some sort of counterprogramming elsewhere for the hour.”

Well, there is a thing (much supported by the Gubmint) that he could maybe use...PBS..

After all the PUBLIC is entitled to hear him....Think PBS would deny?

Would Democrats show for Trump’s speech? That answer is easy: No, not most of them

Seriously? Do they want to provide a campaign issue on a silver platter to the GOP? Not showing up in a Red/Purple district would be career ending.

Of course Sen McConnell can invite Pres Trump. The date of delivery of the State Of The Union is the only set thing. The method of delivery has is not set in stone...heck, it’s not even set via marshmallow. LOL

He doesn’t need Congress’ ok. He’s the POTUS and can speak to We the People any time he wishes. Call a presser and go for it. Multiple tweets to get the entire thing out there. No one can stop him. He’s rich enough to buy his own television station and put his face on 24/7 if he wants.

Time for a State of the Union Trump rally, preferably in the biggest stadium available in some swing state.

This will not only give Nasty Nancy a poke in the eye, but also make a big statement that the Trump administration is for the people, not official Washington.

What’s the problem?

Just televise the speech from the Oval Office on all networks.

Never Trumper Allahpundit needs to read the constitution as it pertains to The SOTU:

He shall from time to time give to the Congress Information of the State of the Union, and recommend to their Consideration such Measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient; he may, on extraordinary Occasions, convene both Houses, or either of them,

The President can convene either or both Houses on extraordinary occasions. This is an extraordinary occasion. I don't see any mention of the minority leader having veto powers.
