New York Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez relies on a lot of economic ignorance to get you to believe what's not true could be true.
The reason she prefers to use a marginal tax rate as a talking point is because she believes it wouldn't affect the overwhelming majority of Americans and that she can get public support for it. She assumes that most Americans will say, “Hey, it's not gonna affect me -- it's just going to screw people who make $10 million or more.”
The problem is, (and I'll give you some numbers in just a moment) her entire basis - the economic basis - for this is nonsense is based on garbage talking points.
Now, just to be clear. Let’s say you made $11,000,000 -- you would pay a 30 percent tax rate on every dollar you made from zero to $10 million. You would only pay that 70 percent rate on a million bucks.
Well, where's the million dollars come from? It comes from the million you made over $10 million. If you make $11,000,000 per year, you would only pay that 70 percent rate on $1,000,000.

What is the media’s fascination with this incredibly stupid woman? She won as a Democrat and in overwhelmingly Democrat NYC district.Nothing special. There are 435 Congresspeople, many very stupid. Why has this lowly freshman been chosen to supplant veteran dummy Maxine Waters in the media’s heart as queen of the incredibly stupid.
Which is why we need (1) TERM LIMITS and (2) ALL POLITICAL DONANTIONS TO BE ANONYMOUS (can't sell influence if you don't know who is buying).

Is never borne out in the article. What are the garbage talking points that undercut the economic basis?

Good God she is such a freakin moron, just like Kirsten Gillibrand “Oh we must abolish ICE because illegals are more important than US citizens”. I use to live in her district 20 years ago. Today it’s completely overrun with illegals and without question they’re voting. Illegals getting fake IDs with stolen social security numbers was exposed quite a number of times by the NY Post and they bust one person and then it’s utterly ignored and it continues. Why? Because Democrats are using them for votes. When I lived in Woodside in the 1990s under Giuliani, I didn’t know anybody who would have voted for these dingbats. Now it’s a totally different city and look at the damage, we have these absolute morons in Congress. Why arent the feds investigating this? These morons are winning elections on blatant voter fraud. NYC will never ever ever have another Republican Mayor, the US citizen has lost his right to representation by criminal foreign invaders.
