It didn’t take long for progressives to turn on Democratic Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (Hawaii) after she announced Friday that she was throwing her hat in the ring for 2020. Her cardinal sin? Not only did she previously hold anti-gay views—she actively worked against the LGBT community through her father’s organization, The Alliance for Traditional Marriage and Values, in the early 2000s.

I think you can respect her for her military service while also calling her out for major flip-flops. i.e. The “Democrat Darwinism” BS - “I’ve evolved”.
Though I can’t say she deserves respect for being a part-Samoan Hindu surfer. But I’m assuming you offered that part as just a mini-bio fun fact.
She’s an elected democrat. She will get a pass. Look at KKK Grand Kleagle Byrd.

Someone just mentioned she was Hindu, I believe. Hinduism doesn’t do the fire and brimstone thing. But, in Hinduism, you are “born again” - then you die, then you’re “born again” , then you “die again” and so on & so on, ad infinitum.

On one issue she’s been consistent: opposing endless US involvement in Mideast wars. That’s the real reason Hillary supporters hate her
She isn’t lock-step. That means she isn’t reading the daily talking points, which means they don’t control her. I don’t agree with her on much, but I see the difference between her and the run-of-the-mill politicians on either side.
Interesting...Tulsi is Samoan, as well as German, English, Irish, Scots-Irish/Northern Irish, Scottish, remote Welsh and Cornish. Her dad is Catholic. Her mother was a Midwestern girl who later found Hinduism . Tulsi chose to be Hindu as a teenager.
