Robert J. Luck, a highly respected rule-of-law conservative on the 3rd District Court of Appeal is Gov. Ron DeSantis' second pick for the Florida Supreme Court.
During a recent interview, Luck described his judicial philosophy: I understand how the judiciary -- what Hamilton called our least dangerous branch -- fits into our system of government ... Having worked in each of the three branches, I understand the modest role of the judge in reviewing the laws enacted by the Legislature, the actions taken by the executive, and the findings of the lower courts ... I conducted myself that way for the last five years, and I will do so as long as I am permitted to serve.
Upon learning of Luck's appointment, Florida Family Policy Council President John Stemberger issued this statement: Robert Luck is a brilliant jurist. To speak with, or listen to Judge Luck, is to realize you are in the presence of a truly unique and Scalia-like intellect. Luck fully understands that the role of a judge is a limited one of restraint. He has demonstrated over the years through his written decisions and public statements, that the job of a judge is to interpret law as it is written and not make law or engage in result-oriented decision making. As an observant Jew, Luck is also grounded in ethical and moral principles that will surely guide and inform his service to the state of Florida. Once again, Ron DeSantis has made a very solid appointment that will help to define his legacy as Governor for years to come.
Florida Senate President Bill Galvano, R-Bradenton: "Governor DeSantis demonstrated again he is committed to appointing judges who have the utmost respect for the separation of powers defined in our Constitution."

This seems like another excellent decision by DeSantis.
It may be early, but he is showing promising signs that he may just be the best Govenor in America !
Yep. Great start.
I think he is being groomed to replace Trump. He’e the only guy I can see on the horizon (not Pence).
He certainly seems to have the raw qualities for President. If he continues to govern successfully hell be a strong contender in 2024.
Pence is a great VP but is not a President imo. Other than DeSantis Im interested in seeing if Don Jr or Sheriff Clarke run
Without the Florida Supreme Court, the Democrats are as good as done when it comes to stealing Florida elections.
Florida gets more conservative.
What is the makeup now of the court, conservative vs liberal? I’ve found several websites that list the judges but give no info about their stances.
He will be a mad dog for PT in 2020.
DeSantis is replacing the corrupt Chiles liberal FLSCOTUS retirements. Hell be naming three Justices.
Putting an end to the one of the most activist Democrat Supreme Courts in the country.
About high time.
Donald Trump Jr. is not a natural-born citizen of these United States. Ivanna Trump (his mother) became a citizen only after all her children were born.
IN first with calling BS. He was born in the USA and his father was a natural born citizen.
He is more natural born than the Kenyan ever was.
Ivanna Trump was not a US Citizen when Don Jr. was born.
Don Jr. is not NBC. Neither are Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, Kamala Harris, Barry Hussein, or several others whose names have been mentioned in a presidential context.
You can take your attempted "BS" call back, before it gets splattered all over you.
If you want a child of “The Donald” to be President, your choices are Tiffany and Barron.
Pence is synonyms with Christian. The failure of the GOP folks to defend both American Values and even the Knights of Columbus has all but doomed his run behind Trump. Should Pend begin confront and fight the good fight the next 4-6 years keeping the left off balance or at least in check, he is by being quiet a nobody.
Pence gives me the impression of another Calvin Coolidge - small govt, says little, laissez-faire, and middle-class proponent.
I hope my fellow Florida conservatives all understand how extremely fortunate we were to win a very close race for Governor. Had Gillum won, he would have put three liberals on the court and our state would probably have gone blue in a hurry. We really dodged a bullet. It’s still going to be a struggle to keep Florida leaning red, as demographics are going to be working against us.
That is entirely irrelevant. If she was legally within the United States at the time he was born, he is a Natural Born Citizen. This is not even debatable. That is what the term meant at the time it was written into the Constitution, and this matter has also been adjudicated multiple times. It is ridiculous to keep making this kind of nonsensical and false argument.
3 liberals. Remember 2000 election recount??
All 3 being replaced by DESANTIS!
