(CNN) First things first: The theme song of the week is the theme song to Saved by the Bell composed by Scott Gayle.
Poll of the week: A Gallup poll out this week finds that 51% of self-identified Democrats call themselves liberal. This is a record high percentage of Democrats calling themselves liberal since Gallup began tracking this statistic in 1994.
What's the point: Potential 2020 Democratic contenders seem to be falling over themselves to be seen as the most progressive. This group includes those who were always very liberal such as Elizabeth Warren and those who were more moderate a decade ago like Kirsten Gillibrand.

Much better than the “hard left” wearing the mask of Uniparty centrism.
Liberal used to have a harmless connotation, someone loving freedom, “open to new behavior or opinions and willing to discard traditional values”.
Perhaps that’s what a lot of people still believe the meaning of liberal is, therefore, their naive agreement about being liberals.
Today’s liberals are nowhere close to the textbook definition, and now, their platform is socialist or progressive, and even communist. The education system has lied to the youth in America, and they’ve been misled about what liberal means. Today, it’s socialism, and the education system and the media and the democratic party, have been selling socialism and communism as if they are the same as ‘democracy’ and liberalism.
Keep the people dumb and ignorant, and they’ll believe anything.
Because in their heart of hearts the Demonicrats have publicly demonstrated they are lying, murdering traitors.

in 2020, the Donks face the same problems the Republicans faced in 2016.
They will have 15 - 20 ambitious, triangulating politicians running for the nomination, which means the extreme candidate who sets himself apart from the field by offering a minority position, will win with 25% of the vote.
If the extremist can get 25%, the remaining candidates will have to split the other 75%, which will leave them all in the single digits.
That is how we got a loud, obnoxious buffoon who looks like a creamsicle raccoon as President. I mean, I love the guy... But he is not exactly inside-the-box.
The first Democrat who runs on a “F*ck the Man” platform is going to walk away with this thing. If I were advising Alexandria Goggly-Eyes Cortez, I would tell her to run, even though she is Constitutionally ineligible. The fact that the law would try to stop her would give her even more street cred. She could get 25 - 30% of the Donk vote, no problemo. And all of the also-ran Donks would hang on to the bitter end, hoping she gets knocked out of the race.
What would the courts do if a major party nominated a candidate who was not eligible to be President?
Well, it never stopped Obama...
More than 80% of Rat voters want socialized medicine.
And most of them are also mentally deranged.
So this is to be expected.
The bill of rights protects us citizens against the unconstitutional powers they want to lord over us. If they do this then it breaks the agreement that we and they agreed to for consent to be governed. All hell will break loose.
“May Go Hard Left...” ???
Talk about sleeping through 30 years prior to the start of the new millennium until present day.
This is a story five decades in the making, not a few months.
LMAO
CNN is less relevant by the hour.
I think Republicans went hard right this last election and it worked. I think Democrats will go hard left unapologetically now, instead of pretending to be moderate.
It scares me a little because we may not have a moderate president again for a while, someone who takes into account there are two sides to the country and try to represent both
Tulsi Gabbard is hardly a hard left type. CNN & DUmmies are attacking her with gusto.
Were you asleep during 2016 election cycle? There were thousands of posts right here on FR saying Trump is not even a conservative, much less hard right.
The democrats are so far to the left, they’ve left the country.
(To loosely quote Ronald Reagan).
I do not think Trump is an ideologue. I think he showed up at the White House, ready to make deals with Democrats. But they declared war on him, so he has no choice but to go to his base.
They have been going “Hard Left” for over 45 years...
The other poster said republicans won in 2016 because they went hard right. That is hilarious since Trump was accused of being NOT conservative in thousands of posts on FR. My post was in response to his/her comment. I agree with you that Trump was never an ideologue. He is a America first pragmatist.
A higher percentage of Democrats call themselves liberal because of the walk away effect of old school Democrats leaving the party. The Democrats party is shrinking as Americans walk out the door.
May? They are left of the Bolsheviks already.
They booed God.
