Lately, I’ve come to suspect that maybe a lot of people, especially men, still have no idea what it’s like to be a woman in America going about her life while trying, and at times failing, not to be assaulted. So, these past weeks, I’ve been observing myself.
You’re right: the techniques she described are excellent and just common sense, given the dangers we all face in today’s society.
It’s not just a problem for women - it’s everywhere.
Concealed carry and and decent training would go a long way towards peace of mind for this lady.
I guess the writer would believe the evidence was adequate if it were her father, brother or son. I wonder why men try to hook up when years from now the events of the evening can be used to destroy their lives.

Seriously, girls should be raised knowing how to use both a knife or other bladed weapon, and several different kinds of guns. They also need a philosophy of self defense, and the ability to act, not just react.
The typical voice of opposition to this, that if they resist, they might get hurt or killed, is utter crap. Defenseless women *often* get hurt and killed without resisting.
If a woman does not resist, she has a 30% or so chance of being sexually assaulted. If she resists with a weapon, this drops to just 3%.

I recently watched a video that some guy did where he took Bureau of Labor Statistics reports of job categories and did some analysis of jobs men dominate vs those women dominate. Pretty interesting stuff. One thing that stood out was his statement that something like 94% of jobs having to do with construction or installation are done by men, so if men all retired nothing would get built in America and if it somehow did, there's be nobody to install it.
This isn't because men are better, it's because men are different than women. Women choose to do other things. They choose things that make less but on the other hands, of fatal accidents in the workplace 96% were to men because men will do more perilous work that pays more. Feminsts operate on a false premise: men and women are equal AND the same so outcomes should all be the same. We are indeed equal but certainly not the same. In general men have different gifts and motivations than women and we align our work accordingly. But that's obvious to anyone who isn't an NPC.
This pathetic woman needs to move to Sweden, or Germany, or one of the countries where their current problem came from, then she will feel so much safer than here in America.
This is probably one of the safest countries in which to be a woman. But there are places one doesn’t venture if one doesn’t need to. Men, even big men, have to take similar measures and be situationally aware in order to minimize threats.
I guess I don’t understand why this woman makes a point of it being dangerous to be a woman in America, as if it’s safer to be a woman in other nations, or what?
This seems to go back to the old “she was asking for it” defense.
That said, whatever wave feminism we are in somehow has young women thinking that they are only empowered and will only avoid whatever dread fate they saw for women before them if they can do anything they want to be, be anyone they want to be, and, yes, dress like a trollop without judgment.
The only solution to this woman’s fear is the elimination of men.
