Pitiful, he looked weak, ineffectual, he was practically begging the DEMON RATS to "negotiate". They have no intention of ever negotiating or supporting anything President Trump proposes.

All he did was T A L K and rehash the same old facts we already know. Nothing has changed. Like I said, pietiful.

Who is "we?"

You have no idea what you're talking about.

This speech wasn't directed at politically astute people like you find here on Free Republic. It was directed at uninformed Americans who are growing resentful about the shutdown.

Almost every conservative political pundit in the media over the last few weeks has suggested he do EXACTLY what he did tonight.

... and that’s just the right tone to take so that when the RATS refuse to make a deal tomorrow, Trump can go to the American people, shrug and say: “Hey, you saw it... I TRIED.”

I don’t think his speech was “pitiful” at all.

You misunderstand

The President layed out what will be accepted. There will be a meeting. If they reject his demands, he will then crack the whip

Emphasis on the word “WE”.

Outside of “we”, there are a whole bunch of low-information voters hearing these arguments for the first time. I thought it was a great speech. If the Rats don’t settle for the steel barrier, they look double bad. If they do settle for it, we get the wall and the steel industry gets jobs.
