On talk radio tonight I heard a "constitutional conservative" argue Trump should declare a national emergency to do what he wants on the southern border. Remarkable. There's no place they won't go. Once again, can you imagine how the right would have reacted if Obama did this?— Peter Wehner (@Peter_Wehner) January 8, 2019
I don’t know..some of them are kind of clever.
“I would encourage the NeverTrumpers to try to put their country ahead of their egos and try to control their emotional outbursts.”
Not going to happen.
All they know how to do is double down on their hateful bigotry and intolerance like their god the Fraud taught them.
Obama flew $2 Billion into Iran and gave them up to $36 Billion more under the table between 2014 and 2016. Iran is and was a terrorist state and our leading adversary in the Middle East. They probably would have collapsed by now without this money. Obama got away with this without declaring an emergency that we know of. Of course he should be hung from the highest lamp post for this treason but at least this helps illustrate how ridiculous this holding up the wall over $5 billion actually is.
As a recovering Never Trumper, Levin should know.
I don't hold it against Levin that he was a never-Trumper pre-election (though I wasn't happy with him at the time). How conservative Trump would actually be was an unknown. But once Levin saw Trump upholding conservative ideals - and actually implementing them - Levin got on board. I voted for Trump (and made calls for him at a Republican call center), but I was mostly trying to keep the presidency out of Hillary's clutches. I was hopeful that Trump would follow through with his campaign promises, but I wasn't sure that he would. Trump is 100 times better than I thought he would be. He's a true leader.
1. Build a quick, temporary barrier within a few weeks, and patrol it using the military.
2. Follow that by building a big, strong, beautiful permanent barrier within the next two years, and continuing to patrol that Wall.
3. Supplement the physical barrier through vigorous enforcement. Deport all illegals. No exceptions. Heavily fine, perhaps even prosecute, those who knowingly employ illegals.
4. End the anchor baby incentive. Correctly interpret the 14th Amendment to specifically exclude citizenship for those whose permanent presence here is not lawful and who are thus to some extent still under the jurisdiction of their home governments.
Grow up. He, like millions of others, backed someone else in the primaries. Including me.
Once Trump won the nomination he, and me, where on board. Unlike McCain and Romney whom I didn’t vote for.
Yes
I see it exactly the opposite. When it mattered, when he was the nominee and before the general election and with millions of listeners, he trashed Trump relentlessly.
We had a solid win, but it was no landslide. We were that close to President Clinton II. JMHO.
No one I know was against a border fence in 2006, And they certainly will not hold their vaunted for their vote affirming the wall and the appropriations of billions to begin construction
Well, the last National Security emergency was declared by Jughead in 2015 regarding "civil unrest in Burundi". Burundi!
So, Mr. Open Borders Neocon, we cannot defend our own border from human smugglers, drug smuggling, criminals, rapists, murderers, drunk driver, or illegal voting but we can get involved in Burundi?
Go soak your head, Wehner.
Good post.
Get your Red, White, and Blue vests ready!!
I’m all grown up. Just pointing at the truth. Be a big boy (or girl whichever the case may be) and accept it.
