Three days after most of the federal workforce was furloughed on Dec. 21, a 14-year-old girl fell 700 feet to her death at the Horseshoe Bend Overlook, part of the Glen Canyon Recreation Area in Arizona.

The [boo-hoo] furloughed employees can collect unemployment.

Which Park had the serial killer of women...Yosemite or Yellowstone? His spree went on for months, despite the fact that there were many rangers...no shutdown!
National Parks are very dangerous! Remeber the case of the two lesbians camping out in Shenandoah? They were being stalked by a madman who raped and killed both women.
Yes...heard the normal weekly deaths in national parks is 6/wk...
I’ve been there and there are NO fences either...but lots of stupid people. (I wouldn’t get near the edge!)
I read the headline and knew immediately that it was either the Wash Post or the NYT, and that is, exactly, what is going to do them in.
The predictability of the news by them will help to get rid if them.
And they will never be smart enough to CONNECT THE TWO ACTIONS.
It always surprises me when the Left hasn’t a clue what happened.
It’s because the CAUSE and the EFFECT are separated by some time.
Like JC Penny, Dick’s Sporting Goods, the Weekly Standard, and on and on. The Left is really quite stupid.
That’s why I avoid tourist hangouts like the plague. Being around a crowd of people hanging out and lounging on the rocks gawking is not my idea of ‘getting away’. Better put a rope line out there to keep the stupid from killing themselves.
Pelosi trying to save money. Nothing to see here.
I dunno, some of the wimmens coming out of those RVs at Yosemite would make a bison look anemic.
Food riots and cannibalism have been reported.
The fake news media is really stooping low blaming the death of a failed selfie on the government shutdown. Would she be alive if the government didn’t shut down? Only if you do a lot of recreational medical marijuana.
These types of accidents occur regardless of a prtial govt shutdown.
GRAVITY: It’s not just a good idea, IT’S THE LAW!

The winds coming out of that canyon are brutal. I got pelted by small pebbles and sand. But the view is worth it.
Someone dies almost every year.
We often get multiple deaths if the weather suddenly turns bad, or there is an avalanche or ice fall.
Hikers fall off the trails and climbers fall into crevasses even during perfect summer weather.
Yes; I got my Y’s mixed up.
Thanks!
I have been in WAY too many places like this!

I was in one, alone except for my dog, just one day before I woke up with my first kidney stone attack!
Sadly, the girl was probably taking a SELFIE!
On a hike to Delicate Arch; I was with a group that had an eight year old in it.
Just before we made the last turn to where the arch was finally visible in all it's glory; he got to dancing around with excitement and nearly went over the downside of the trail!
Just about here...
