It wasnt all bad news at the box office this past year.
The movie industry as a whole may be boringly left-wing, but occasionally a conservative message breaks through, sometimes intentionally and sometimes accidentally or because filmmakers simply applied themselves to telling the truth. Here are ten films that brought conservative concepts to the multiplex in 2018, ranked according to conservative firepower:

What about Avengers: Infinity War? The bad guy was after universal population control.
Coen brothers, that is.
I can’t imagine paying money for any of them.
I haven’t seen any of them.
I’m not sure what the thinking is in Hollywood.
A lot of special effects just make it cartoon-like.
Exactly.
If I were black the movie would have been an insult. It implies that the only way a black culture can progress technologically is to have someone dump it in their lap.
Yes, hubby and I watcbed this a couple of weeks ago when we were bored and had nothing else to watch. It certainly did not deserve the over-the-top Tomatometer rating that it got. It was an okay movie; but, certainly not the best effort at a comic book movie that I have seen.
And did we really need some smart-ass black girl crowing about "fixing" another "white boy". My hubby commented that it was a film about black inferiority complex.
The hype and positive, gushing reviews were all unjustified, IMHO.
I saw Mary Poppins....
Its not Conservative and it was not a good movie
Gosnell: The Trial of Americas Biggest Serial Killer
This movie is GREAT
A must see
Have not seen the others and after reading the comments here, it doesn’t look like I missed anything
Little Pink House And Chappaquiddick were both excellent.
Awaiting Gosnell. Is it on dvd yet?
Justified was great. Sorry when it cancelled.
To me it just looked like a dream made up for Blacks to fantasize about.
The sad truth about Africa, is that not much positive came out of it. Egypt yes, but pretty much anything below the Sudan was just a wasteland.
I take no pleasure in this. Compare lower Africa to Europe, or better yet the U. S. It’s just sad.
I enjoy seeing Black action heroes who fight for good in contemporary settings. I like seeing successful Blacks in everyday life too. I just can’t watch brain dead nonsense.
You mention women action heroes in this movie, and it’s something I’ve noted, and not just in this movie.
It isn’t limited to 5’ 0” women either. They pull the same routine on 60 pound kids. And they can’t put a child in a movie unless he’s a walking encyclopedia and depicted to not only be smarter than his knuckle dragging parents (at last depicted that way), but giving Einstein a run for the money too.
Ridiculous. It’s just insulting to your intelligence.
Look, we’ve all suspended belief for action movies, but for goodness sake. The absurdity of today’s writers and producers is seemingly limitless.
Good post, D1.
Where is "I can only imagine?"
What you see depends on what you expect. Kyle Smith likes the way that the new Mary Poppins reminds him of the original and doesn't overturn his memories and expectations.
Armond White doesn't like the degree to which they modernized and politicized the story. What also makes a difference is whether 1910s-style radicalism (votes for women, labor unions) is still radical today.
I watched "The Death of Stalin" expecting a serious, in-depth look at the Soviet power structure of the mid-20th century.
Within 20 minutes, I was thinking "what the...?"
I loved the comedy of the thing, but it tended to drag on too long with the same basic joke. Brilliant for a half-hour or so, but then it started to repeat itself.
Thank you.
Very agenda driven. I could not finish it.
Death of Stalin was Freakin Hilarious!
