It was one of those heartstring-tugging, tear-jerking, carefully curated narratives about DREAMers we're supposed to read and then respond to with sympathy. But a story that ran in the Los Angeles Times yesterday accidentally did more to raise questions about the issue of ballot-harvesting in California than any raving right-wing warning tome could ever do.
The Times describes how California's famed ballot-harvestors, who flipped places such as Orange County blue in the last midterm, aren't actually citizens. They did it by "helping" voters fill out, and turn in, and continue to turn in, ballots from otherwise uncommitted voters until they got the result they wanted. Here's the DREAMers "helping" the voters vote the way they wanted, in action:
In California, Dreamers like Cruz phoned voters, walked precincts and protested outside Republican lawmakers offices, reaching people who had not been called or visited by either party. Their efforts helped boost turnout among Latinos in this years midterm election 29 million nationwide were eligible to vote, according to the Pew Research Center which is projected to surpass levels higher than in past presidential election years, political analysts said.
An analysis of data from eight states by the Latino Policy and Politics Initiative at UCLA found the Latino vote grew by an estimated 96% from 2014 to 2018, compared with 37% among non-Latinos. The surge, researchers said, helped move 20 House districts held by Republicans to Democratic control in California, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, New Mexico, Florida, New Jersey and New York.
And here's how they actually did it: Half an hour later, she was helping Silva look up candidates as he filled out his ballot by the light of her phone. Im glad you guys came, he said. I was going to leave it in my drawer.

Nawwwwww! You don’t expect me to believe that DemonRats would commit felonies to get their way do you!?!
Sorry about the misspelling.
Guess I was thinking about the child being hurt at the zoo in Florida.
Yes, it’s Republicans In Name Only or RINOs.
They do, but the President initiated an "election fraud commission" which had mixed results, and then reassigned the task to the DHS (I think).
Hoping to see some fraud-bombs this week as the new RAT Congress is getting settled in.
I's just jivin ya.
In yo face, America!
Every illegal vote is an attack on the sanctity of our nation, and the rights of its citizens. It is, in a manner, an act of war. It’s that serious, and should be treated as such.
They also have “Early Voting” where people stand in line and fill out Provisional Ballots, all they have to do is give a name to the County Clerk, no ID required, just mumble a name and get a ballot. Some vote 5 times a day.
Not a conspiracy theory I witnessed it firsthand in 2008 at the LA County Recorders office.
No disagreement on that point.
I’m not sure that much outside effort was needed in CA to have it vote blue.
also gave Cal dems a super majority, They can change the state constitution, beat any veto, do anything they want
Yes
Yes lots of non citizens voting
99.99% dem
These grass crawling wetback invaders will breed the law abiding Citizen out of existence.
Like my father said, "Mexico will get back Texas without firing a shot." MOLON LABE
Well, what do you expect from the gimme dat clans from South America.
There are more of them then there are us now which will not end well for America.
The RNC is complicit. One wants votes and the other wants cheap labor.
When the dust settles, the persons at the top of the heap, politicians and such, will still have their world they want but better.
No more pesky white middle class to hold their feet to the fire.
<><> Latinos are organized into identity pressure groups---according to places of origin.-----exchanging political favors and tax dollars for delivering identity votes.
<><> At last count, the nationwide "Hispanic Federation" had $22 million in public funds financing these anti-American activities.
<><> The "Hispanic Federation" was criticized for lobbying for their investors' interests (supporting a NYC lawsuit against the restriction of sugar-sweetened beverages. Following the lawsuit, Coca-Cola became the co-chair of the Hispanic Federation Gala and was awarded their Corporate Leadership Award.
<><> Hispanic Federation's then-President, Lillian Lopez-Rodriguez, accepted the position as Cokes Hispanic Affairs Director shorty after the lawsuit.
<><> Hispanic Federations discretionary funding is a pressing issue for the municipal government.
<><> In July 2014, the NY Hispanic Federation received a $1.3 million grant from the NY City Council, quadrupling its previous grant. Over and above the public money it extorts, the Hispanic Federation's relations with politically-connected lobbying firm and their influence on the City Council was seen as a conflict of interest b/c of lobbyist Luis Miranda Jr.'s MirRam Group. City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito is a MirRam accounting client, manipulating her decision in grant-making to be pressured by lobbyists.
<><> The NY Hispanic Federation's connections with MirRam is seen as a corrupt relationship. The Federation's Board is made up of from company managers with at least two being MirRam clients; the corporate-dominated board allows for the advancement of interests of the lobbyist group to precede those of Latino communities.
ALL VOTER FRAUD MUST be eradicated before the next election. ALL of it. Voter ID, lots of other things.
not going to happen.....
we're a passive society and our young people have no soul in general....
DOJ is a joke....
Exactly. Read my tag line. Its a theater and frankly Im sick and tired of people on this site blaming democrats for voter fraud when the GOP has let them get away with it for decades with nothing more than a whisper in protest, even when they had real power to stop it. Why didnt they? Because theyre equally guilty of other crimes and the Dems have them by the short hairs on them. Expose our voter fraud, take it away, and we expose your XYZ and take that away. - and they all go to jail. Thats why.
