The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is beginning 2019 with a new case of a deadly police shooting.
A man was fatally shot by an off-duty officer at a liquor store near Stone Mountain late New Year’s Eve, according to the GBI. DeKalb County police requested the state agency’s assistance on Tuesday.
The officer, who is a member of the Pine Lake police force, was working security at Big John’s Package Store on Memorial Drive when a man entered with a gun around 11 p.m. and told everyone to get on the ground, GBI spokeswoman Nelly Miles said.

Considering the number of people in the store at the time, that was a risky shooting......
At first when I read the headline I thought this was going to be another ‘cops shoot good guy’ story.

I can hear the peep relative say....
“why didn’t the LEO shoot him with non lethal means ? He was a good boy”
Yeah. I saw that other customer try to get out and wondered at first if he may have taken one of the bullets.
But still, I’d have a hard time faulting the officer.
Not a word about “white” or “black” in the article. That means that the cop is black.
They usually find a way to blame whites even if no white is present, by saying things like: “After a series of shootings of black men by white cops, .....”.
This was justified. The perps were a danger to innocent people. Dead perp = good thing.
Which is actually surprising, seeing that the dude in the blue jacket ran both ways in front of the armed robber as the cop was ventilating him....
Note to self: it is a good thing that you don’t consume alcoholic beverages- seems (urban) class 6 stores are a free fire zone....
2nd note to self: good that you live a quiet rural area where everyone knows that if they enter uninvited, they will likely get smoked; neighbors all have interlocking fields of fire as well.

Media rule #1: NEVER mention that that bad guy is black. #2: Always mention the cop is white when he/she shoots a black person. #3: Disregard race when both are the same color. In this case, the Cop was black and this neighborhood is heavily black and suffers (surprise) from very high crime.
