California was a great state, now it is the Arm Pit of the world.
Rest assured. All the paper pushers are still drawing paychecks. Only the functions that will cause trouble to those uppity taxpayers are closed down.

first thought I had too. Federal shut down caused people to defecate on roads and sidewalks? Then why have they been sh!ting on the sidewalks in San Francisco for years? Did SF's bum population suddenly move to Yosemite? Was there a caravan that I didn't hear about?
Of course not. No need to expect people to be rational and responsible when uncle sugar takes care of everything for them.
On the other hand, the NPS should have had better sense than to leave the gates open. They should have been able to know this would happen.
Shut down means just that. Close the doors. Life will go on and the world will keep on turning just the same.
Predictable shutdown news story. Every shutdown comes with a story about the national parks to pressure a Republican surrender.
The Donald should just close the parks for the duration.
In SF property owners should be forced to maintain a porta potty on there property and if they don’t the homeless should be allowed to use the space as needed.
And so? If there’s any fault to be assigned it’s on congress for NOT coming up with a bill that can be supported in a bi-partisan way.
I doubt anyone will notice.
