U.S. Rep. Mark Sanfords congressional farewell message is a nearly 4,000-word essay that warns of the growing political decay in the era of President Donald Trump.
I want to be clear and explicit that I am not likening Trump to Hitler, but the forces at play could lead to a future Hitler-like character if we dont watch out, he wrote in a Facebook posting Wednesday.

I think you are missing the point. People like me didn’t vote for Sarah Palin because she was a GOPe approved social conservative. I voted for her because she wasn’t a slimy GOPe insider and the GOPe hacks hated her. DJT won for the same reason. President Trump isn’t a GOPe approved “conservative”, he is an outsider. It is telling that he has governed in a much more conservative manner than any GOPe approved “conservative” of any type would have.
Clinton-like horndog warns of Hitler-like character.
Hey Mark, ever hear of Winston Churchill? Well, maybe President Trump is our Winston Churchill
Thanks, offtheMark. We’ll be on the lookout.
She has Occasional-Cortex Eyebrows.
Don’t forget Nazi Pelosi, Chucky Schumer Hitler and Hitlary!
Some of these has- beens sure have shown themselves to be utter aholes as theyve retired or exited from our public payroll. In future, We must be a lot more careful in what we hire/ elect
The McCain/Sanford/Bush-wing of the Republican party are good for about 35% of the electorate going forward. I’d personally put Pence in that mix. Trump has broken the GOPe, permanently, and for that I’m forever grateful.
More worrisome, and much more likely, is a Hugo Chavez type figure.
My vote is to a Stalinesque type which would be much more appealing to kameltoe, setyer and cortex
Depends. One kind of economic conservatism is declining. Another kind is rising. And whether those trends will continue isn't certain.
Had McCain picked Sanford as VP in 2008, he may have had a chance.
Don't think so. Too slick and polished. Too privileged. Looks too country club. Named his kids Bolton, Blake, and Landon. Would not play well with ordinary Americans. Too Paul Ryan.
A Christmas a##, and don’t let the door hit you in the aforementioned
True that!
Most of our current Socialists in the US are International Socialists, aka useful idiots for Communists. They killed many more of their own people than the Nazis.

Good riddance. You are a disgusting person and have been invaded by evil.
His name is on the list too.
In a way, possibly not the way he intended, he’s not wrong.
Some have argued that the Tea Party was America asking nicely. If you have to wonder what it was they were asking, you’re not paying attention. The Tea Party was widely disparaged in the press, false aspersions cast, and then hijacked as well by opportunistic politicians to boost their election chances, who promptly went Full Swamp Dweller upon taking office.
The election of Donald Trump is America asking yet again, not so nicely this time. One of the best things about him is exposing the depth and breadth of utter douchebaggery in both parties, the press, and major intelligence or law enforcement. Very sad to witness, but it had to be done.
“We have to be careful” Well, yeah, for some values of “We” fella. WTF did you think was going to happen?
If Juan McCain picked Sanford as his VP??? Wow, that is some comment!!!!
Which is probably 12 years too many in Congress for such a boob.
Sanford was on McCain’s list.

South Carolina’s Gov. Mark Sanford, 47, is more of a maverick than McCain; Sanford faults his state party for being insufficiently conservative. His frugality has had him at daggers drawn with the state Legislature, which Republicans control. His populism is an acquired taste — he should not have lugged those two live pigs into the Legislature to express his disapproval of pork — but he favors expanding school choice, eliminating the state income tax and, at the national level, reforming entitlement.
