LONSBERRY: Cuomo's Depopulation War On Upstate NY
NewsRadio WHAM 1180 - Rochester ^ | Dec 20, 2018 | Bob Lonsberry

Posted on 12/24/2018 1:19:45 PM PST by cutty

Since the start of the decade, a million people have moved out of New York.

For Andrew Cuomo, that’s not a problem, that’s a victory.

It has solidified his party’s hold on power, and it has reshaped the state and its culture in a fashion more congenial to his interests and agenda.

...

From the summer of 2017 to the summer of 2018, New York had a net loss in population of more than 48,000. Illinois, another Democrat state, was the second-most abandoned state, with 45,000 net reduction in population. Of the seven other states which had a net loss of population – all but one of them Democrat states – the total number of people moving out of them all combined was just under 34,000.

That means that, if you set aside Illinois, New York lost more residents than all the other losing states combined. If you don’t set aside Illinois, more than 40 percent of all the net population loss in America took place in New York.

Under Andrew Cuomo.

And that’s a win for him.

Because almost all of New York’s net population loss took place upstate, where values and party enrollment are in conflict with the governor and his progressive agenda.

...

Cuomo’s efforts to make New York – in his words – “the progressive capital of the nation” require a weakening and suppression of conservative, rural and Republican upstate.

So he declared war.

He allowed the state’s suffocating taxes, regulations and land-control rules to work like a spreading cancer against the financial interests of rural upstate counties. He harassed upstate culture with measures like Common Core and the Safe Act, and delayed and ultimately destroyed the potential for prosperity offered by fracking.

I left in 1980...

The only problem is most people who leave still vote for democrats..

Move to Colorado the Californians moved in a ruined that state..

Move to Florida and there in the process of ruining this state..

There will only be a few red states in twenty years..

The GOP Is a waste of time at the Federal level

We need a Trump like president for thirty years to make a difference..

Once all the makers are driven out, who’s going to feed the takers? Liberals think tax revenue comes from a bottomless well of infinite wealth and never understand the idea of running out.

What upstaters have to decide is are they going to continue to let themselves be chased away, or are they going to stand and fight.
Stand and fight ... against who ... the 9 million progressives in NYC?
Yeah, lot's o'luck with that.

Albany thinks it’s gonna get the other 49’s taxpayers to pay for Albany’s pleasures.

And Lonsberry is absolutely correct....again.

Andrew Cuomo is a disaster and we hate him more than we hated his father. Andrew and his brother are also orders of magnitude dumber than his father which is really saying something.

Not just Cuomo. Over the last 6O years or so NYS has lost almost half it’s House seats. Albany has been a disaster for Upstate for decades.

The same sort of thing happened in the Soviet Union and East Bloc. When the bills could no longer be paid, the whole thing started to collapse under it’s own weight and contradictions and likely a similar sort of thing will happen in New York and elsewhere like that.

The NYS government is among the most corrupt in the nation. Both Assembly and Senate leaders from both parties have gone to jail. Cuomo’s various aids and political acquaintances have gone to jail. Members of his administration have gone to jail.

Upstate has always been the bastard child because NYC and its interests run this state and ALWAYS will. A trip to upstate western NY and you think you are in the Midwest.

Upstate is basically disenfranchised now. Industry has been destroyed. The fracking ban finished it off permanently.

It’s the job a the governor of an American state intentionally to make life inhospitable for some of the people so they leave? Who knew?

I lived most of my life in Illinois and saw some real doozies for governors, but none as loathsome on every level as this guy. Not even close.

Need to cleave the city off the state’s butt and make it the District of NYC.

Let the rest of the state try to recover.

You can already see that as you head up the Hudson River; the rust belt cities have seen Hispanic populations growing, and not because of jobs there...

My Dad’s close friend in Ithaca, NY lived on Texas Lane. He changed the address sign letters on his mailbox to read “100 Taxes Lane.” I told him he had goofed his lettering on his mailbox. He said “You’ll get it when you are older, kid.” I was 13. This was 1964.

New York never changes.

I left the Syracuse NY area in 1980 for Connecticut which at the time was booming. Now Connecticut is dying because of democrats being in charge.

“We need a Trump like president for thirty years to make a difference..”

That is why, it may well be that Trump will be our last President before the country is dissolved. If Trump is able to be in office for the next 6 years, and is able to makeover the SCOTUS, it may be a hindrance, but the people want Socialism/Marxism, and they’re going to get it in spades in the not too distant future.
As for the “Californians” ruining Colorado, their seed came from the Northeast, so really all Colorado is is the children of the people who ruined California. Here in Danville, CA, we’re still trying to get out the stink Adam Schiff left in one of our high schools. His parents undoubtedly came to our nice little town after crapping up their nest in Massachusetts. I guess we should be thankful he decided to move to SoCal.
