Chuck Schumer vows to continue his government shutdown forever rather than fund a wall:
President Trump, if you want to open the government, you must abandon the wall, plain and simple.
Schumer claims the Democrats are “open to discussing any proposal as long as they do not include anything for the wall.” Sure they are.
This is all theater, of course. Hugh Hewitt says the shutdown is Schumer’s fault

He further added that for himself, if the Lord Jesus was running as a Republican and Satan was running as a Democrat, he would vote for Satan. Perhaps, he was a bit hyperbolic.
When you ask what’s wrong with these people, you assume that they see the same political landscape as you do and have the same values. They appear to have a loyalty that surpasses the loyalty of the Japanese WWII bonzai soldiers. To the soldiers, death, as a consequence, was better than dishonor. To a Democrat, any choice other than Democrat, is dishonor.
Trump will seize on this once in a lifetime opportunity to show that we don’t need 800,000 gov’t employees to get things done.
He’ll hire subcontractors, get rid of the dept of this and that, the postal service, AMTRAK... Will be a wonderful opportunity to clean the swamp...

God, can you imagine, if we had a 51 vote in the SEnate for things. We would transform this country like you wouldn’t believe.

I think if we had had an honest election, there would be very few democrats in congress. I also do not think that Romney would be the incoming senator from Utah.
My thoughts, no 5 billion for wall, not signing any bill. Good luck with any bill becoming law Chuck!
This is how the libs work, they are in the minority but hold the whole country prisoner. Two can play, especial one that does not need Government!
He needs to be shown that he is not the president, Trump is.
Frankly I think Schumer has bitten off more than he can chew. It is going to be fun watching him choke to death.
Why is this deranged idiot so against me, my family AND my country. If you don’t like the laws and constitution then get the heck out. There are other countries who live like you want to. You are a smug little dictator and the United States of America does not need vermin like you.
He controls "minority power" and he wields it sharply.
When Republicans are in the minority, they lament "elections have consequences" and give the Democrats what they want.
When Democrats are in the minority, they use every tactic at their disposal to delay, obstruct, and block the Republicans from doing what they want.

If they close 1/3 of the government for the indefinite future, won’t that a) create a surplus in the budget, and b) drain about 1/3 of the swamp. Trump needs to see what Schumer cares most about: The Wall or The Swamp.
I would prefer a partyline vote showing the party represents the will and desires of American people versus the party that represents illegal aliens against the American people. If you put illegal aliens above the safety of the people of United States aren’t you really a traitor?
One more death of an American citizen at the hands of illegal aliens should put Chuck the schmuck’s head on a pike
