Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is blaming President Donald Trump and his “domestic realities” for the tens of thousands of illegal immigrants coming into Canada.
Trudeau made the comments Friday during a year-end interview with Global News.
Dubbed a “border crisis” by the Official Opposition Conservatives, an increasing number of Canadians are also concerned about the steady stream of illegals coming into Canada, according to polls. The flood of would-be refugees began shortly after Trudeau issued the now infamous #WelcomeToCanada tweet in January 2017 that invited the refugees of the world to come to Canada, even as Trump aimed to tighten American borders.
While the illegals sit in Canada waiting to see a refugee board, they receive accommodation, medical care and legal aid at taxpayer expense. Many are staying in three-star hotels because migrants have already eliminated any vacancies in homeless shelters. The Opposition has tabulated the cost to the federal government at over $1 billion (CAD).
Trudeau is also an enthusiastic advocate of the United Nations Global Compact on Migration that the United States has rejected on the grounds that it could inhibit national sovereignty. Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer pleaded with Trudeau to reject the treaty but the prime minister would not hear of it. Trudeau finally realizes that for Canada, America has been its buffer for all the illegal migration from Mexico and points south, and now that’s no longer the case. So when we see migrants rowing up either of our coasts now, we should just have the Coast Guard make sure that they “reach their final destination,” Canada!
I’m waiting to see the formation of that new tribe, The Hudson’s Bay Hispanics. They will have to trade the sand between their toes for snow and ice! Damn the frozen tortillas and full speed ahead.

10 Proposed Liberal Reforms to Canada’s Immigration System
1. Double the number of immigration applications allowed for parents and grand-parents sponsorship from 5,000 to 10,000 visas per year.
2. Double the budget for processing family class immigration applications to reduce wait times
3. Increase points allocation to applicants who have siblings in Canada on their Express Entry application
4. Lift the visa requirement for Mexican travel to Canada.
5. Eliminate the $1000 Labour Market Impact Assessment fee for families seeking caregivers to care for family members with physical or mental disabilities.
6. Restoring free access to healthcare for refugee/asylum seekers pending a decision on their case by the government.
7. They have pledged to make it easier for international students to achieve Canadian Citizenship. The exact details are not specified, but they have stated they will do this by making adjustments to the Canadian Experience Class program that will ‘remove barriers’ to international students.
8. Restore the Canadian Citizenship residency time credit for international students in Canada.
9. Bypass the two year wait period for “conditional permanent residence” for spouses of sponsored individuals.
10.Restore the maximum age for dependents from 19 to 22, making it easier for immigrants to bring their older children to Canada.

I agree — except for one fine point: Trudeau is not our Head of State (that would be Queen Elizabeth) — he’s just the Head of Government. (OTOH President Trump fills both positions.)

Back in the seventies, I immigrated to Canada to take over the subsidiary of an American company. Had to go through all kinds of hoops and still, at the Niagara Falls border station, the A-hole turned us down.
So we drove to border station at Fort Erie. We were ushered in with a smile. The agents seemed to have a lot of discretion.

Thank you for keeping the record straight. We in Canada heard and saw the Prime Minister make his statement. All very well to say "welcome all", but to then to denigrate our neighbours was bad form.
Only one talk show pundit was honest enough to mention "logistics". How right she(Chantal Hebert) was. Emerson, Manitoba absolutely swamped and resources long gone. They border North Dakota. Quebec just bordering on New York State, overwhelmed. Nowhere to put people quickly. Affordable geared to income housing mostly clogged up in many Canadian cities, for working class citizens.
Motel owners charging very high rent. Emergency housing needs. They know Johnny tax payer will foot the bill.
