he Supreme Court won’t let the Trump administration begin enforcing a ban on asylum for any immigrants who illegally cross the U.S.-Mexico border.
New Justice Brett Kavanaugh and three other conservative justices sided with the administration.
The court’s order Friday leaves in place lower court rulings that blocked President Donald Trump’s proclamation in November automatically denying asylum to people who enter the country from Mexico without going through official border crossings.
Trump said he was acting in response to caravans of migrants making their way to the border.
The administration had also complained that the nationwide order preventing the policy from taking effect was too broad.
But Chief Justice John Roberts and the court’s four more liberal justices rejected the administration’s suggestion for narrowing it.

Why were liberals in government, media and on main street so concerned about a decent man becoming a Supreme Court Justice?:
Congress, Presidents, governors, legislatures, IRS/FBI/DOJ and all others set up potential possible judicial decisions, which are ALL Decided by the Supreme Court often by one vote by the Swing Justice.

*The federal circuit judges (HI,OR,CA especially), and the Supreme Court 5-4 decisions totally run our religious practice, life and death such as abortion, immigration and our borders, our sex lives and definitions of gender, and all types of private and public activity and taxation.

IMO if the admin had made a change for just the southern border where there is a prima facie national emergency we'd have a better ruling from the court.

I really don’t know what they have on Roberts. There’s the obvious, but it’s so obvious that it can’t be their leverage point. What do they have on this guy? Or are older conservatives so blind they actually don’t know?
The problem is they are illegally crossing the border between ports of entry. When they are caught doing that we cannot deport them back to Mexico because they are not Mexican citizens. We then have to process them for asylum in this country. Denying asylum to those who did that was to stop them from entering illegally. Now the judges have said even those that enter illegally can still claim asylum when they are caught.
We are trying to make them wait in Mexico to be processed but the USSC just said it was fine for them to just go ahead and enter illegally and they would be processed here, which also means they will end up being processed before those who are waiting in Mexico. That is not what the court said but that is what their ruling means here in the real world.
No, this was to deal with those who do not wait in Mexico to be processed at the border. Many decided not to wait but to just enter illegally between ports of entry. When they are caught here then they ask for asylum. Once they cross the border we cannot deport them to Mexico because they are not Mexican citizens. Trump’s plan was to say those who entered illegally would not be considered for asylum so they would stop entering illegally. The Supreme Court just ruled that cannot be done. Those that enter illegally have to be processed here for asylum. It actually rewards the illegals that enter illegally instead of waiting in Mexico.
So now you can bet most will not wait, and will enter illegally meaning we are back to processing them in this country. They have no reason to wait in Mexico now, in fact those that enter illegally will actually get processed faster than those that wait in Mexico.
