The President Tells Me It’s Money or Nothing
Rush limbaugh ^ | December 20, 2018 | Rush Limbaugh

*snip*

RUSH: Okay, folks, this is good. This is interesting. I just got a phone call. Well, I got an instant message. It’s the equivalent of you getting a phone call. That’s how people communicate with me, particularly during the program. It’s impossible to use the phone during the program. Anyway, I just said less than 10 minutes ago in my translation of what’s happened here, “The president told Republicans he’s not going to sign this. It’s not a veto yet, but he’s not gonna sign it until there’s border security in it.”

And I said, “Now we have to look out for what does ‘border security’ mean? Republicans are gonna go back to the House and they’re gonna rewrite. They’re gonna add something to the continuing resolution that passed the Senate and they’re gonna put something in there called ‘border security.’ We have to keep a sharp eye on what that is. If it’s not money to build a wall, if it’s not money to do something to shore up the border — if it’s just words, if it’s just a commitment to care about and seriously tackle border security — then it’s nothing.”

So I get this direct message: “You tell Rush that if there’s no money in this, it’s getting vetoed. If there’s no money — if there’s no money for a wall — I’m vetoing this, plain and simple.” This was the message that I just got, and I trust it and I believe it to be the case. By the way, it’s a legitimate question. I mean, the way the media reports this — and it was not just the media. It was Paul Ryan saying, “The president cares deeply about border security. So we’re gonna go back and we’re gonna get some border security in this thing.

“The president said he’s not gonna sign it unless there’s border security in it.” Well, we know how these guys work. We know what “border security” can be anything. If it’s not specifically a wall — and I guarantee you it’s what the media is gonna say. The media is gonna say, “Trump is continuing to fake you out! Trump is continuing to play with you. He’s going to sign this even if there’s no money for the wall. He just wants you to think that he’s playing hardball ’cause he thinks that will satisfy you.”

And your chicks for free.

Well, better than free - they’ll pay $300,000 of your legal bills, too!

If we don’t get the wall I think it’s more or less the end of the attempt to drain the swamp, i.e., the end of Trump. I can’t see him winning re-election without the wall.

The GOP voters banged a big brass gong yesterday, and it appears that the president heard them. It appears that way.
Check back a week from now. Anything is possible in TrumpWorld.

PLEASE take a breath and quit making EVERYTHING the “end” for Trump. He needs allies with backbone and not “keyboard activists” who are ready to throw the towel in every single day.

Well Rush made a convincing case about what Trump will get if he signs — NOTHING! And Trump has listened to him and is agreeing! And he is tell us that he is agreeing with Rush.

Point taken. I read a headline earlier that Pelosi was celebrating her lack of a wall victory and I jumped the gun before reading that Trumps has vowed to veto any legislation that doesn’t include “border security”, whatever that means.

Why not last year? Ridiculous politicking again. Let me guess amnesty for all along with all the H1bs, syrian rapefugees and the bumpstock ban.

“I can’t see him winning re-election without the wall.”

Only if he fights with every available tool and weapon that his office provides will he even win the nomination.

And even then he will have to be utterly and completely defeated.

And every Republican voter in every corner of this country will then know who their enemies are. And a large portion of them are Republican office holders.

What a great Christmas present to give your liberal friends - a card stating you made a GoFundMe donation to Trump’s wall in their name in lieu of a present.

Think this one through -

Not signing = pocket veto, after sitting on his desk for 10 days.

Bill is dead, no chance for an override if he did a regular veto.

Potus has congress in a bind. They go home Friday to a certain shutdown caused by their arrogance. Many of them promised the wall to get re-elected.

The emotion of the season and their own laziness means they pencil in $5B for discretionary spending by DHS/DoD and pass the same short-term spending measure, only a tad bit higher. They might even find $5B they can jettison.

I love President Trump, but, like with every government official, you have to keep an eye on him. He waivered on the Wall, so we had to remind him that the Wall is his “read my lips” promise. Failing to get the Wall built would greatly undermine his reelection efforts. He heard us and now will get the funding.

He waivered on the Wall

He never wavered, he merely set Congress up to shoot themselves in the foot.

Now the fools that kept saying they couldn't get it passed, are going to have to pass funding for the wall and look doubly stupid.

If the country can afford 3 billion for “Cash for Clunkers” to sell a few cars then — 5 billion to protect the border is peanuts -
