Martha McSally has reportedly been chosen to fill the Senate seat once filled by late Senator John McCain.
Governor Doug Ducey appointed her to the position Tuesday morning.
He said in a tweet: "All her life, (McSally) has put service first leading in the toughest of fights. With her experience and record of service, Martha is uniquely qualified to fight for #Arizona in the U.S. Senate."

She does not strike me as a solid conservative. Any AZ Freepers care to share their opinions?
Meh, whatever. Considering the person she’s replacing, it’s a step up.
SMH
Good, she’s probably the most conservative that could ever be elected from Arizona, and more Republicans voted for her to become Senator than any other Republican. Twice.
Martha McSally loves it when a plan comes together.
Not a great choice. We need someone who can win re-election in 2020. Based on her performance this year, that is doubtful.
A rino in the McCain mold.
Trump went to the mat for her so hopefully she will show some appreciation.
McSally is what’s often referred to as a RINO — very squishy. Like the Fox Network, Arizona’s reputation as “conservative” is largely undeserved.
POTUS upped her bigly.
Handed her the baggage, so-to-speak.
You know it was a pretty Democratic year, right? I doubt she'd have lost in 2010 or 2014.
Weird.
You should never reward failure. Martha lost a winnable race. Very disappointing.
A conservative is a liberal who has been mugged. She clearly got mugged in the last election. Maybe she learned something. We can always hope, anyway.
AZ has to have Amnesty Senators.
Now they have one of each jersey.
Terrible!
I don’t understand why some former military officers become squishy once they are in congress.
John James from MI would not have. IMO
The Arizona GOP just loves them some losing don’t they?
McCain-Flake RINO.
