The most interesting thing about this piece is that it was written behind closed, and locked, doors.

...bugs brought the birds — including some you can’t see anywhere else in America, like Green Jays and Chachalacas — and from there, the bobcats and coyotes.

Butterflies, birds and small mammals will be able to go over the wall or between the bollards. And if not,the cats and yotes will catch prey on the other side.

Because candidate Trump only promised to build THE WALL about 110,000 times.

Som how was this idiot supposed to know that he really intended to build THE WALL?

"...Right now, in Mission, Tex., we don’t worry about immigrants who crossed the border illegally or drug smugglers. We worry about having to defend our private property from seizure by the federal government..."

FROM WIKIPEDIA: The racial makeup of the city from the 2000 Census was 77.63% White,[8] 0.37% African American, 0.38% Native American, 1.63% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 18.64% from other races, and 2.34% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 81.03% of the population. (Note: This is confusing until you recognize Hispanics are classified as "White")

In this context, one can understand why they "don't worry about immigrants" in Mission, TX. The town business is likely conducted in Spanish, schools are taught in Spanish, etc. They are likely in favor of unlimited illegal immigration and open borders.

This guy voted for Trump and Ruth Bader Ginsburg jogs practically every day to show she is timeless and Robert Mueller is the most ethical man who ever lived. Maybe we should start a litany of truths.

How? Butterflies will fly right over the wall.

I am sure that the Washington Post had no trouble finding a former Trump voter who now regrets his choice. There must be millions of Trump voters who are terribly concerned about the slightest possibility that a few butterflies might have to move their habitat.
