President Trump on Friday named White House budget director Mick Mulvaney as his new acting chief of staff, saying the former South Carolina Republican congressman will replace John Kelly as his top aide.
I am pleased to announce that Mick Mulvaney, Director of the Office of Management & Budget, will be named Acting White House Chief of Staff, replacing General John Kelly, who has served our Country with distinction, Trump tweeted. Mick has done an outstanding job while in the Administration. I look forward to working with him in this new capacity as we continue to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!
...
The president said Kelly, who recently announced plans to leave the White House, will stay through 2018.
John will be staying until the end of the year, Trump tweeted. He is a GREAT PATRIOT and I want to personally thank him for his service!
The president did not say whether Mulvaney will remain as director of the Office of Management and Budget. He also did not detail how long Mulvaney will serve in an acting capacity.

You have chihuahuas nipping at your heels. I wouldn’t let them bother me. They are pretty small. Don’t worry about them.
Great. The sun has yet to rise on a day when I cared what you thought about me.
LOL. I deal with some of them all the time. :-)
That’s an insult to chihuahuas.
Welcome, he posted it on the thread I posted about John Kelly leaving at end of the year.
YW. Embrace them as your standards.
You have to archive this story on FR. As a bonus, one Freeper (I forgot which one) had a nephew who worked for the new OMB staff and the freeper ALSO narrated the story how they replaced the locks the previous night so the idiot “obama boss” (who later sued Trump because she wanted the job for life but failed miserably ) would not get into the office. Which actually happened..
For whatever that’s worth. /sar
Thanks, I was looking at the Consumer Protection bureau, but found nothing.
The “Leader” there was also assuming a lifetime appointment.
I’ll go follow up now.

Could it be the CFPB ?
Mulvaney was appointed Acting Director of CFPB over Leandra English, who was appointed by Director Richard Cordray who then stepped down.
She sued to try and keep the job.
I know mulvaney changed the name of the CFPB, I didn’t know he changed the locks overnight.
If it is about the OMB, I apologize and can we have a link ?
I have always thought that if somebody seriously wanted to research these subjects, they should go to FR first. There’s a lot of people on the ground here who know what theyre talking about and have the names and dates.
This should piss the commie snowflakes off. Not really for any particular reason other than the ***holes love being pissed off.
A longshot...but even better than Mick.
“Sebastian Gorka: Trump should pardon Flynn, make him White House chief of staff”
https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2018/dec/13/sebastian-gorka-floats-michael-flynn-fired-nationa/
The president could pardon General Flynn, and hed make a great chief of staff, dont you think? Mr. Gorka said during an interview aired on the Fox News channel.
I’m guessing Flynn has had his fill of Washington politics. And I think he will get a complete vindication by the judge on Tuesday so no pardon needed..
OK, this is great news. Imagine a COS who knows how to get things done! It’s a multiplier effect for a guy like Trump.
It could make Trump 5 to 10 times more effective!
Mulvaney is one smart, tough cookie.
I saw a video of him and he was chuckling and joking and having a grand old time tearing Pocohauntas little secret agency apart. Probably but 1000 new gray hairs in her headress! This job needs someone like him, a good administrator, the last thing Trump needs there is a freakin politician.
Im hoping Mulvaney has a strategy to get the wall. Maybe he knows how to use OMB to put pressure on the RATs. Maybe pay ICE and keep them employed while furloughing all the Amnesty Interviewers ...
Why is the President going with an “acting” Chief of Staff? Just yesterday he said he had five well known, talented people looking to take the job. Why not one of them?
