Instead of shrinking the committee as was the plan....to keep Harris on...Turtle expanded the committee by one additional member (GOP). So they have an extra GOP vote on the committee now.

So the deal is the Republicans add a seat too. Only a big deal if you think Harris is a big threat in the next presidential election. I don't see her as much of a threat, and I don't even think she's legally qualified, but that doesn't seem to matter anymore.

She slept her way into this position, that generally doesn't make her a longterm threat.
