Democratic California state lawmaker Joaquin Arambula was arrested Monday on suspicion of misdemeanor child cruelty, Fresno police Chief Jerry Dyer said.
The arrest came after officials at Dailey Elementary Charter School discovered an injury on a child who came into an office Monday afternoon, Dyer said. He did not describe the injury or Arambula's relationship to the child. He was cited for willful cruelty to a child.
The Fresno Bee reported that police spoke to the alleged victim prior to the arrest.
Fred Vanderhoof, the Fresno County Republican Party chairman, in a press release called on the California Democrat Party to ask for Arambula's resignation due to "the egregious nature of these charges," according to Fresno's KFSN-TV.

What sticks out, “CHARTER SCHOOL” so the public schools are not good enough for your kids? you know the schools you praise support and encourage against the evil charter schools that divide and separate. More hypocrisy from the elitist rats. Whats good for you is not god enough for me
Charter schools are public schools. They have a specific focus, in our district it’s “project based learning “. I talked to a local police officer a couple years after the school began and he said they were called there more than any other school in the district. I wasn’t surprised at all.
They aren’t always better or for the elite. They often can be for kids who don’t fit well into traditional systems.
Teachers are mandatory reporters. That sob probably beat the crap out of his daughter.

That’s a very interesting observation. What if the child is not his?
i think that the kids parents will probably step up and he will be in more trouble with the law. Beating your own kid is one thing ( not good!!) but hitting a strangers kid is worse.
Take them to their parents and let the parents decide if they want to hit him.
Why didn’t he just drop the kid over a fence? Seems to be the norm on the border and is OK to do.
This guy is a medical doctor who was an ER physician.

I could find more, but it seems obvious it’s one of HIS kids.
Having said that, He left a mark. Corporal punishment that leaves outwardly visible marks is going too far.
