Governor-elect J.B. Pritzker said Monday he still plans to raise the minimum wage within his first six months in office but he stopped short of saying just how much it should increase.

Perhaps, Governor P can fund a test-run of the program from his personal wallet.
“...from his personal wallet...”
I thought he’d be using that to unhook the toilets in the guv’s mansion.
Minimum wage will still be $0 no matter what laws they pass. Unless you count “voting for democrats” as a job in which case current laws provide a “wage” above the minimum they want.
I don’t have problem with minimum wage. The problem is they will raise the welfare maximums to go along with it.
Simple! By limiting the maximum allowable, all excess can be re-distributed to provide for a minimum allowable.
I’m (sincerely) expecting some “enterprising” Democrat to eventually propose making layoffs illegal.
Trump’s critics don’t realize that Democrat state governments are undercutting the positive effects of his policies at the federal level. He needs to point that out.
He is a billionaire. Some crumbs paid by others for the little people. Of course the net impact will be fewer jos. Employers will have higher overhead. They will need to decrease expenses and/or pass the costs on to the consumer.

So, in one statement, he nullified all the money the former governor of New York spent to attract business to the state.
The raise is in effect government induced wage inflation that causes New York to become even less competative on a national and more importantly, an international level..
Dude, Milton is a Free Traitor globalist POS. EVERYTHING is political including economics. Being on the wrong side of the minimum wage issue puts Republican at a disadvantage.
This is already the situation in France and several other European countries:
Once you hire someone in France plan on them being an employee as long as they want to stay.
Raising minimum wages and phasing out welfare would be the best thing possible. I would say tie MW increases to “core” inflation, core inflation is a joke anyway.
GovPee will continue the fine tradition of governors in the state of Illinois.
Time to start saving a bunkmate of Rod B.
“...Free Traitor globalist POS...”
The instant you degenerate to vulgar name-calling attacks you are dismissed from intelligent conversation.
I have never understood why WeatherTech is located in Illinois. Move across to Tennessee....no income taxes.
Do I really need a sarc tag?
Anyone else from Illinois notice how real estate prices have been on the rise in border states? Home and building lots in Indiana in our area are up 30%
