Happy holidays, were all doomed!
Scientists keep telling us that climate change could devastate our environment, economy, and health by the end of this century. And were doing less than nothing about it. Our government - led by a know-nothing who thinks global warming is a hoax because Thanksgiving was cold - has let fossil fuel foxes make henhouse policy, dismantled already weak environmental regs, and opened up millions of acres of pristine public land for drilling.
But Im here to help, friends. Here are a few easy steps you can take to protect yourself from climate change, since your leaders wont.
Relocate immediately.
If you live by the ocean, find some sucker to buy your house. According to a report by 13 federal agencies, sea level rise and more extreme weather events threaten $1 trillion in coastal property.
Change jobs.
For many of you, its time to find another line of work. The federal report estimate annual losses of as much as two billion labor hours.
Be rich.
How else are you going to get through this? Moving to New Zealand is expensive, after all.
Reduce your need for clean water and air.
The federal report says more than 100 million people in the United States already breathe unhealthy air. Its only going to get worse.
Dont get attached to each other.
In a warmer world, more of us are going to die of heat-related causes. The report says there could be as many as 2,300 more premature deaths a year by 2090 in the Northeast alone.
Avoid having children and grandchildren.
That way, youll never have to explain to them how you let this happen.

Stock up now, while you still can!
The reason I know it’s a hoax is that AlBore bought an ocean front masion in Kalifornia with his enviro-dollars.
Perhaps she thought that tumble out of the hammock had turned her into another Isaac Newton with special insights on the climate rather than physics.
Very good points!
My six steps:
1. do nothing
2. do nothing
3. do nothing
4. do nothing
5. do nothing
6. do nothing
My first step:
Burn my garbage.
Bets on whether the author has done any of these things?
The Greenland Ice sheet is growing. The oceans will retreat if that trend expands. Your oceanfront property will be devalued. With enough global cooling the upper northern states will be glaciers. Sell your homes in Boston!
How much snow did North Carolina get last week?
Hmmmm....
My ‘survive’ the global warming [hoax] tip:
#1 - ignore or never read articles written by people like Yvonne.
It’s a BIG swamp!
I have a better idea. Shut the natural gas and electricity off to Boston this winter. Rinse and repeat as we enter the grand solar minimum.
Unlike you I actually believe in climate change and have formulated a plan to deal with the various scenarios
1. If it gets hot... open a window or turn on air conditioning
1. If it gets cold.... close the window and add a log to the fire.
I have been practicing this for 60 years now and it works quite well
I DO believe in changes in the weather and actually follow your plan in similar circumstances!
Then we shall both be prepared for this impending doom called global warming cooling change thingy.
If you live by the ocean, find some sucker to buy your house.
0. Identify the bounds of what change you’re anticipating.
Serious canonical climate change models see a probable maximum warming of 2°C increase over the next _century_ (that’s 0.02°C/year, significantly less than hourly variation).
Serious contrarians are observing signs of the onset of a new mini (or more) ice age. Compare relatively recent cooling periods for reasonable bounds (time & temp).
1. Relocate immediately.
Climate changes. Relocating to somewhere likely optimal for most scenarios is wise. Oceans rise? don’t be close to oceans. Permafrost regions expand? don’t move to areas prone to freezing up. Look for temperate areas good for farming even if long-term thermal fluctuations reach +/- several degrees. Remember that just one major volcanic eruption can cool things down in a hurry.
2. Change jobs.
Get a job not tightly coupled to a single company, and which compliments self-sufficient living. Telecommuting is excellent. Avoid factory work.
3. Be rich.
That doesn’t mean lots of $$$. That means staying out of debt, live the life you want, want the life of self-sufficiency, and have multi-layered means of fulfilling all needs. Flip the house circuit breaker, stop buying gas, and cut up all the debit/credit cards - can you get by indefinitely in relative comfort?
4. Reduce your need for clean water and air.
Via #1: move to where clean water & air isn’t an issue. Install fine-particulate wood stoves and solar panels, backing up natural gas & “grid” electricity. Build rainwater collection & purification.
5. Dont get attached to each other.
Au contraire, get more attached to your neighbors. In a grid/infrastructure/economic collapse, best to already have working & mutually productive relationships.
6. Avoid having children and grandchildren.
Au contraire, procreate abundantly. The only way humanity will survive is by enough competent & coping people producing competent & coping offspring. Don’t opt for the “I object, so I resign” copout - that leaves the bad people in charge.
Relocate immediately: If you live by the ocean, find some sucker to buy your house. According to a report by 13 federal agencies, sea level rise and more extreme weather events threaten $1 trillion in coastal property. ME: I’ll buy! I’ll buy!
Change jobs: For many of you, its time to find another line of work. The federal report estimate annual losses of as much as two billion labor hours. ME: Okay...what job should I take?
Be rich: How else are you going to get through this? Moving to New Zealand is expensive, after all. ME: Why don’t you sell me your house and move to New Zealand???
Reduce your need for clean water and air. The federal report says more than 100 million people in the United States already breathe unhealthy air. Its only going to get worse. ME: How about shutting your pie-hole, clean air and water arranged for me!
Dont get attached to each other. In a warmer world, more of us are going to die of heat-related causes. The report says there could be as many as 2,300 more premature deaths a year by 2090 in the Northeast alone. ME: Wow...2,300 more premature deaths? I wonder how they calculate that. Are they going to remove all the people they have ALREADY added to the death toll over the last 30 years as being related to global warming?
Avoid having children and grandchildren: That way, youll never have to explain to them how you let this happen. ME: I think the left is doing just fine at reducing the birth rate already by getting them before they come out of the womb. Of course, they offset a little bit that by espousing single parenthood.
i was just thinking about that before clicking on this link. that is spooky.
The human species lives in-between ice ages.
We, all of us, are living in the greatest time of this planet. It’ll probably get warmer to be sure, but its sure as shit going to get VERY cold in the future..
