The Supreme Court Monday rebuffed efforts by states to block funding to Planned Parenthood.
It left in place two lower court opinions that said that states violate federal law when they terminate Medicaid contracts with Planned Parenthood affiliates who offer preventive care for low income women.
It would have taken four justices to agree to hear the issue, and only three conservative justices -- Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito and Neil Gorsuch -- voted to hear the case.
Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Brett Kavanaugh appeared to side with the court's liberals in not taking up the case -- showing an effort to avoid high-profile abortion-related issues for now.
Roberts and Kavanaugh "likely have serious objections," said Steve Vladeck, CNN Supreme Court analyst and professor at the University of Texas School of Law. "But such votes seem to be a signal that they would rather avoid contentious, high-profile disputes for now, at least where possible."
The case concerned whether states can block Medicaid funds from Planned Parenthood affiliates that provide such women with annual health screens, contraceptive coverage and cancer screening.

You are correct, but some of the folks with blinders on won't understand.
I despise the killing of the unborn as well, but states deciding that because they do abortions they can not be paid for other work is not going to fly.
It's going to take a constitutional amendment to truly protect the unborn.
Feminazis are going: “Yeah, Brett, that’s right! We busted yer balls so bad that now you’re gonna vote w/ us time and again, if you know what’s good for you and your family!”
He likes beer.
lol... and America takes it up the azz -again- with Supreme appointees
I believe that SCOTUS is saying that the Congress makes the laws and the country must follow the laws.
Kavanaugh’s high-end Catholic education really paying off, eh?
One of the primary purposes of the establishment of Planned Parenthood ... to "control the negro population".
I was afraid this would happen...he's now trying to prove to the liberal media that he's a fair guy...exactly what every RINO does.
Look
If you decide to kill your baby and ruin your mental health forever
Planned evil is just one place to do it
So taking their government teat away does really nothing
Theyll still get private money anyway or there would be others
The TRUTH about life is key. Getting that out
“I think the states wanted to block PP as a provider of any Medicaid-funded services”
That makes sense. This original:
“The case concerned whether states can block Medicaid funds from Planned Parenthood affiliates”
Makes it seem the funds are from Planned Parenthood, not to them.
It should say “block Medicaid funds from going to Planned Parenthood affiliates”
how much adrenochrome and children were promised?
So, they’d “rather” not do their jobs?
Pathetic.
They’ll have to answer to God.
to the Petitioner, that is a Decision, ma’am, is it not?
Uh, oh. Roberts was predictable. Kavanaugh was not.
Kavanaugh looks like another Roberts.
Kavanaugh fighting against God?
...
No. It’s a signal that the law needs to be changed in Congress, not the courts.
PP’s BIG business is an abortion mill
Every dollar they get for another operation provides a dollar for the baby killers.
As you suggest, this lamestream infomercial steps chastely around the main point, which is that any services provided by PP are only there as marketing for its abortion services--which are its most profitable "product." A state, according to the Feds, runs its own Medicaid program, and would be quite reasonable in wanting to avoid this octopus of evil altogether and shop somewhere else. I do not see why a state would not be within its rights to do so. They get to choose which vendors to bring in lunch or fix the toilets, don't they?
I’m torn on the issue. I never thought Kavanaugh was our best pick, but i also see that other conservative SCOTUS picks did not take this stand.
