Paris was in lockdown early on Saturday with 'thousands' of French security forces braced to meet renewed rioting by "yellow vest" protesters in the capital and other cities in a fourth weekend of confrontation.....
The Eiffel Tower and other tourist landmarks were shut, shops were boarded up to avoid looting and street furniture removed to avoid metal bars from being used as projectiles.
About 89,000 police were deployed across the country.

Im on the train to Paris from Barcelona and I was afraid they might try to block the Spanish border today. No problem, Im in France and about half way to Paris now. But I am a little concerned about the arrival, because blocking or attacking trains is a big European protest technique.
Needless to say, I planned my trip well before the riots broke out! However, the train is pretty sparsely populated, even though this is a holiday weekend, so I think a lot of people cancelled.
Police are seizing protective equipment from journalists and barring some provincial yellow vest protesters from boarding trains to Paris, as part of exceptionally stringent security measures to prevent a repeat of last week’s rioting, reports AP.

I believe he got a huge boost from the immigrant vote. If it were only real Frenchmen voting, he would have lost.
“could anybody be worse than Jeff Sessions?”
I stopped asking that basic question when I asked it about Bill Clinton. Eight years later ... the Magic Negro.
Very glad to have visited Paris this Spring before all this went down. I feel for the merchantswho are not making a living while this unrest goes on. However Macron must go, and FRexit must happen.

“Can the French foreign legion be deployed in times of crisis on French soil? Does any freeper know?”
The wiki doesnt specifically note such a restriction. But the history records no deployment within France. Perhaps France gas something similar to Posse Comitatus Act.

Not a peep when they were flooded with 7th century troglodytes but raise their taxes like they voted for and all hell breaks loose.
