It is the best book ever written on the subject, I can only speak of it cuz some other sap spilled it, and I am an old guy and my boats are razor blades now.

Interestingly enough, there are three topics on which I could discourse for hours: rail, classical music and American history between the Revolution and the Civil War. So PDQ Bach is a subject on which I could discourse — if anybody ever asked me about it.

When I lived in L.A., I saw PDQ every time he came to town. I saw him do "Hansel and Gretel and Ted and Alice" at Cal Tech. I saw him do the Concerto for Piano Versus Orchestra with the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra at Ambassador Auditorium. Great fun!

Prof. Schickele turned 85 this year.

Post #226. There are three subjects on which I could go on for hours — unless somebody stops me.
