President Trump has nominated a "brilliant man" to replace Jeff Sessions as attorney general, the president said outside the White House Friday. He has tapped William Barr, former attorney general for the late President George H. W. Bush, for the position.

Trump said he "did not know" Barr until recently, but found him to be respected by lawmakers from both partIes. He predicted the process will go "very quickly."
However, Democrats have hinted that they will make the nomination process a nightmare for Barr, considering his past criticisms about special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia investigation. He has also reportedly suggested that Hillary Clinton's role in the Uranium One scandal was more worthy of investigation than Russian collusion.
The Mueller probe has been an Achilles heel for the office of attorney general the past couple of years. When Jeff Sessions felt pressured to recuse himself from the investigation because Democrats didn't like an answer he gave during a congressional hearing, Trump never let him forget it, calling him "weak" and "beleaguered."
Your anti-Trump bullshit is really getting tiresome, troll.
Is this BILL BARR or Bob Barr?
“VP Pence is the President of the Senate. So, he comes into the Senate, takes the gavel and announces a recess. No vote required. Done.”
Can he actually do that?
I know that he can break ties in votes that are 50-50 But did not know he could do that.
Good idea
Yes Trump needs to make recess appointments for anyone fitting for a position.
Thanks that answers my question to that poster.
You sure?
Larry Klayman suggested the one person who could be of great value to the President in saving the country, BOB BARR.
Not Bill...
Why doesn’t the President seem to be listening to his friends?
Where is the defense of Dr. Corsi? The pardon of Mike Flynn? The pardon of Julian Assange? The DECLASSIFICATION of documents?
Wouldn’t it be a tragedy if the country was lost because the President misread a name?
Based upon the excerpts of Barr’s resume you posted, Trump could have done far worse in his choice of nominee.
That resume is very encouraging.
role
Yep, if Biden spoke highly of him, it’s not a good thing.
As others pointed out it's Bill Barr. My bad. Speed reading is not my thing. All I saw was Barr and got ahead of myself.
And about to can yet another Chief of Staff?
Well, at least now they can stop bitching about Whittaker.
I wasn’t really paying much attention to who he originally chose but I do remember everyone wanting Sessions.
Nor Roseanne Barr
Gregg Jarrett cautioned against Trump choosing Barr to replace Sessions as AG saying he is a Washington insider.
As for William Barr, yes unquestionable integrity, a fine reputation, great experience he brings gravitas to the job but he is an establishment figure at a time that I think we need a disruptor as Attorney General, Jarrett said, adding, Somebody who would vigorously go after corrupt officials at the FBI and Department of Justice who were abusing their positions of power and attempting to undermine democracy.
Jarrett then concluded, Im afraid Barr is not that guy.
Another DEEP STATE AG pick by Trump doesn’t sound too bad......
....for the Obama/Clinton criminals which Nunes and other House Republicans have worked so hard to expose....
Also, the DEEP STATE GLOBALIST CFR-controlled uniparty establishment and all the criminals which have been attempting to nullify the last Presidential election probably don’t have much to lose sleep over....
