since siding with those who support gun control, business has gone down at Dick’s Sporting Goods and the company may have to close Field & Stream:
Edward Stack, chairman and CEO of Dick’s, said during the event that the sporting goods chain’s recent 3.9 percent drop in same-store sales was the result of a mix of factors beyond their control as well as some he called “self-imposed.” Specifically, he said, “the decisions we made on firearms” negatively affected their bottom line but the drop in sales was something they expected. They did not, however, regret their decision to change a number of their gun-sales policies and back new gun-control legislation.

What’s the beef with Nordstrom?
This is true, I know exactly what you mean.
However, I always take care when communicating with politicians and professionals (as well as individuals I don’t know) to give them “default respect” and will communicate with them in a cogent and civl manner (which is what I am going to do when I begin my “anti-Ballot Harvesting” endeavor in which my goal is to contact by snail mail every member of the House and Senate regardless of party affiliation to express my opposition to the practice).
What kind of response I get usually determines future action and communication for me.
I am not going to be profane and nasty, because that only gives them an opportunity to throw it in the trash. I like to make them read and feel the need to respond.
(This obviously does not encompass the “MoveOn”, “Code Pink”, “Black Lives Matter” and those of that ilk that I have personally encountered at protests. Their affiliation with those groups pretty much sets them in stone.)

To sum it up, Nordstrom went TDS in a public way - to inspire their Democrat friends.
I figured as much. My wife works for them. Not all employees back their policies.
[For years I have thought Dick’s was an accounting fraud waiting to happen.]

I was in Big 6 IT (and a bit of auditing) when Phar-Mor hit. There was a store near my next place (condo) when I left college and my previous job. I don’t remember if I actually went into that store. I left that job for Big 6.
It was also during the time when a bunch of liberal _______ were all taking various cheap shots at the President through stuff like that.
So, of course, the Hollywood liberals got all excited.
