Read my lips: Media's love for George H.W. Bush more about hatred of Donald Trump
The Washington Times ^ | Sunday, December 2, 2018 | ANALYSIS/OPINION

Posted on 12/02/2018 6:41:45 PM PST by E. Pluribus Unum

It has been nothing short of miraculous in this new season of Advent to hear all the Hosannas and applause for our recently departed former President George H.W. Bush.

In The New York Times, Mr. Bush was heralded for his “uncommon grace.”

The Washington Post called him a “giant of a man.”

“The most kind and considerate person I’ve ever known.”

“The most beautiful creature I had ever laid eyes on.”

Not your typical remembrances from jaded politicos about mere mortals. Especially if that mortal happens to be a Republican politician.

Where were all these lofty accolades when Mr. Bush was alive? Where was all this love when he was president? Where was this towering regard for the man when he was losing his re-election campaign in 1992?

Oh, that’s right. The press lies. And there is no time to lie about someone like once they are dead and no longer pose any threat.

When President Bush was alive and still a threat in politics, he was scorned and ridiculed by the press.

He was doddering and out-of-touch. Patrician, they called him. A buffoon who barfed in the lap of the Japanese prime minister during a state dinner.

Even in later years, long after Mr. Bush no longer posed any real threat, the press ran with ridiculous stories accusing Mr. Bush of being an iron sides groper. Yes, this would be the same man that the media sided against in 1992. To help elect Bill Clinton.

Just like the McCain circus a little while back.

We know. It was seen with Betty Ford’s funeral as well.
The Bush family seemed to be turning more and more Democrat every election cycle.

Funny but when he was running of the office of the presidency he was a privileged, stupid, Ivy League educated scion of a evil senator who used his ill gotten connection to the oil industry magnates to succeed.

And a “wimp”

And don’t forgot Ann Richards, the drunk Governor of Texas, saying “George was born with a silver foot in his mouth” or “He was born on third base and thought he hit a triple”

This is all to strike at Trump, have no doubt about it.

Some of my more Liberal friends are ‘so saddened’ at his passing.

*Rolleyes*

Whenever a Lib tells me, ‘for a Republican he wasn’t all that bad,’ you KNOW he was a RINO in thought, word and deed.

Man, we have one very LARGE and one very DEEP hole to fill back in with Liberty and Freedom!

Thank you for posting. Great article showing how nefarious the press really is. Truth, what truth? Never let the truth get in the way of the agenda, and always assume your readers stupidly cannot remember beyond an election cycle.

I thought of the Ma Richards quote before I got to it in your comment.

Trump can rest in the solace the press will say good things about him after his death. “sarc”

Never fails, the virtue-signaling presstitutes put on their officially grieving faces for a dead guy they once savaged relentlessly.

8>) I love the last line:

But, read my lips: Whatever family Mr. Trump comes from, if he keeps on keeping his campaign promises, he will get himself re-elected president. And that will be just one more way Mr. Trump was different from Mr. Bush.

Exactly and it easy to see through the media and what is behind most of the uh product they produce. If the Bush clan had been supporters of President Trump you would not be getting this from them.

Yes they do, over at Yahoo. Including x41 and John McCain.

Full of praise, a lot of them are.

Full of baloney, too.

I don’t watch television, but last night I was having dinner out with my wife, and they planted us right in front of a television with MSNBC on.

It was appalling. Every single thing they said was couched to paint Bush in the warmest light, and contrast him with what they said a Republican president should be.

I voted for GHWB in 1988 but did not in 1992. But GHWB was light years better than Clinton. (voting for third party candidate was a mistake)

That said, I remember the vitriol directed at Bush by the media. I lived through it and remember it. They simply act as if we don’t.

I saw CTV Canadian television network today having a "professor of political science" from Hamlin College. It wanted his views on the passing. It may be the one from Minnesota, but I am not sure. He gave a eulogy to the former president, George H. W. Bush. He could not stop himself. He tapered off with a swipe at the present administration. Using the seemingly tranquil state of the Bush years, with the "divisions" that plagues America today.

No respect, no dignity, no agreeing to just let things go for the present. This as much of the nation mourns the death of the former president.

This is not directed at you, okay?

First, and generally: DUH!

Second: not entirely.
Coulter has pointed out that the longer a Republican president is out of office, the smarter and better he gets. And when he’s safely dead he becomes almost a political saint.

But yeah. This time it’s patrician Bush against street fighter Trump. And liberals are snobs.

The Bushes and Clintons I don’t mourn for.

America doesn’t have dynasties. Its a relief to see them gone for good.

Who cares about the past? Its a foreign country.
