The Worst Riots In Generations Sparked In Paris. Here's Why.

Violent protests ravaged Paris, France on Saturday when French citizens became upset about rising taxes and the high cost of living, USA Today reported. According to police, 133 were injured and 412 were arrested. This isn't the first time violent protests hit the capital. In fact, this is the third straight weekend that violence has taken place in Paris. The violence initially began on Nov. 17th when a gas tax increase was announced. The riots that took place this weekend, however, have been considered to be the worst one in a generation.

French President Emmanuel Macron on Sunday visited the Arc de Triomphe monument, which was graffitied during the riots. Macron vowed to hold those responsible for the damage accountable.

The movement is compromised of average working citizens and is referred to as the “Yellow Vests." According to the New York Times, their name comes from the yellow safety vests motorists are supposed to wear when they have a breakdown on the side of the road.

"Yes, but he may have lived to 160 if he didn’t LOL."

You speak of him in the past tense and as if he won't live to see 160...

Remember, we all need to be concerned with what kind of world we are going to leave for Keith Richards....

The guys that have Patriots season tickets got the notice on Friday for the presale of Rolling Stones tickets next year at Gillett Stadium. They passed. How old will Mick and Keith be? 75ish

Yes, both around 75. However, you can kind of see Mick being able to still do this. Believe it or not, the guy takes care of himself and is in great shape for a 75 year old. Keith has spent 75 years abusing his body and he’s still going strong!!!

If and when he dies, it is a moral imperative the he donates his body to science for study. I’m not counting on that being in my lifetime and he’s got me by almost 20 years!!

You meant to post the Oracle on the Paris thread?

I did not.

I totally dorked it. Reported for removal to the admins. I hope no heads explode from being exposed.

Apologies to non-Q'ers.

Makes our extremely orderly 1,000,000 person Tea Party in 2009 (blacked out by the msm) look like a tea party!

The tea party reveled in it’s 15 minutes of fame and then withered on the vine

Conservatives lacked the conviction to shed their apathy and continue to support the effort

The Tea Party gathering on the Mall in DC scared the hell out of the powers that be and the result was the weaponizing of the IRS. There was nary a meaningful whimper in response.

I paid $2.65/gal for gas this morning

We pay $2.16 in the Baltimore suburbs. Costco has it for $2.06. Try one of those online gas price apps. You can save a lot. And MD is more expensive than VA, where it's around $1.90.

“...isn’t important to the average Frenchman who is seeing his country turned into a third world shithole.”

The million dollar question is whether France is REALLY waking up to what’s happening to their country. Over the last decade or so, they have been given political alternatives but have refused to take them. Instead they continue to vote Socialist.

What was the old saying? - “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome” - or something close to that.

I could easily be wrong but I don’t see France waking up to the enemy in their midst.

I think the average frenchman while voting for a socialist doesn;t actually want France to look like the former French holdings in Africa look now. Which it is rapidly becoming.

This is exactly what Obama was trying to do to us.

Macron’s government is talking about amending the right to protest, so it sounds like Macron’s looking to return the favor. The flaming idiot.

Fortunately for Norwegians, Norway is not all that big.

Pretty much every big city is on the coast.

No big commutes.
