Democratic Sen. Kamala Harris of California announced on Saturday that she will make a decision about whether she will launch a presidential bid in 2020 by the end of this year.
Its a very serious decision, Harris told Morning Joe co-host Mika Brzezinski during an onstage conversation at the Know Your Value conference in San Francisco. Over the holiday, I will make that decision with my family.
Harris, whose husband joined her in the audience, said she is keenly aware of the challenges a barrier-breaking campaign will entail.
Lets be honest. Its going to be ugly, Harris said. When you break things, it is painful. And you get cut. And you bleed.
Harris also expressed frustration over the slow progress of the Secure Elections Act, which she introduced in March, along with co-sponsor Republican Sen. James Lankford of Oklahoma. The bipartisan legislation would give the Department of Homeland Security responsibility for ensuring secure elections and shoring up election infrastructure against cyber attacks, and would establish an independent advisory panel of experts to develop guidelines on election cyber security.
Republican Sen. Mitch McConnell, who currently serves as the leader of the Senate, has not yet brought the legislation to the floor for a vote. Harris said she has been told that is at the White Houses request.
First of all, lets be clear about the fact Russia did interfere in the [2016] election of the president of the United States, Harris told Brzezinski. Flawed though it may be, we designed a beautiful system of democracy, and one symbol of that is that we have free and open elections. When a foreign government chooses to manipulate our democracy knowing that would compromise our strength and our perception of our strength, you would think leaders would say No, we are going to do everything we can to strengthen and to give ourselves the immunity we need to be free from that kind of manipulation. Yet, its not happening.
Harris also addressed the legacy left by former President George H.W. Bush, who died Friday at 94.
He is a symbol and an example of the nobility of public service, Harris said. I didnt necessarily agree with every policy he promoted, but I completely respect and Im in awe of the dedication he gave to his country and service. What we want most in our public officials is that we respect that when they make decisions, they do it based on what they truly believe is in the best interest of other people, not themselves.
The more airheads the better.
What’s disgusting is the so called talking heads on ‘our’ side who never bring up those facts when talking about Kamala Harris. I’m referring to Fox(hannity, etc) and much of talk radio. It’s how we got the O’muslim usurpation
Why has no one challenged her that? Her parents were not citizens at the time of her birth.
I predict Senator Kamala Harris will be the first to throw her hat into the ring for the Democrats’ 2020 nomination and there will be exactly ZERO serious challenges to her eligibility.

Her candidacy may be an ace in the hole for Trump. If she wins the nomination, Trump may wait until the 11th hour and say, “By the way Kamala, please prove that according to the Constitution, you are eligible to serve as President.”
Trump talks smack about a lot of things, but may actually make her prove that she is qualified. I hope so anyway.
I wonder if President Trump believes that four out of his five children are equally ineligible?
Ms Harris is about to learn the hard way, that sleeping with a powerful man may get you a Senate Seat in a democrat state.. but you cant sleep your way to the Presidency.
Nobody challenged Ted Cruz and unlike Harris, he wasn't even born in America. And by "challenge" I mean a serious legal challenge, not just bleating on Internet forums.
This being said, I have little doubt that had Cruz secured the nomination, we would have heard more of it and had Cruz actually beat Hillary, the ongoing debate over his eligibility would have made the Mueller investigation look like night court.
What barrier will she be breaking? Women have run, a woman has already been the Dem nominee. We've already have a back president. So again, what?
Kamala Harris is an empty skirt. What has she accomplished?
Boinking Willie Brown.

They haven’t expressed an interest in running...Kamala has.
Let the cow run. Spread that money around and dry it up.
I can only speculate that nobody really thinks the DNC would dare or risk running another ineligible candidate after the obammy disaster especially since even sorozNazi must realize he can find 1000s of ELIGIBLE puppets to nominate that will do his bidding without the onus/ problem/disadvantage
AGAIN:
KAMALA HARRIS IS NOT A NATURAL BORN CITIZEN.......
BOTH OF HER PARENTS WERE NOT CITIZENS WHEN SHE WAS BORN IN THE USA.
They came here from India & Jamaica as students, met, married, and had Kamala. Neither one got their citizenship until 5 or 6 years later.
Kamala is NOT eligible to be POTUS-—or ANY position that can succeed POTUS.
We got snookered by Obama.
We do NOT need an encore.
Please pass this info on to anyone you can get to listen.
She is half Jamaican & half Indian. (Hindu)
The clarification of eligibility of a person such as Obama or Harris is likely to be given to the Supremes before the 2020 election.
That is one of the hidden reasons I believe that here was such harsh behavior against Kavannaugh.
Harris was one of the most nasty at those hearings. I think she knows she cannot pass the NATURAL BORN CITIZEN test & she cannot do a thing about it.
I am pretty sure Trump knows this.
Ivanka and Don Jr. are very much positioning themselves for a future in politics.
Mulatto privilege overrides the Constitution ... again?!
Does her husband know how she got (ahem) ahead?
