Democratic Sen. Kamala Harris of California announced on Saturday that she will make a decision about whether she will launch a presidential bid in 2020 by the end of this year.
Its a very serious decision, Harris told Morning Joe co-host Mika Brzezinski during an onstage conversation at the Know Your Value conference in San Francisco. Over the holiday, I will make that decision with my family.
Harris, whose husband joined her in the audience, said she is keenly aware of the challenges a barrier-breaking campaign will entail.
Lets be honest. Its going to be ugly, Harris said. When you break things, it is painful. And you get cut. And you bleed.
Harris also expressed frustration over the slow progress of the Secure Elections Act, which she introduced in March, along with co-sponsor Republican Sen. James Lankford of Oklahoma. The bipartisan legislation would give the Department of Homeland Security responsibility for ensuring secure elections and shoring up election infrastructure against cyber attacks, and would establish an independent advisory panel of experts to develop guidelines on election cyber security.
Republican Sen. Mitch McConnell, who currently serves as the leader of the Senate, has not yet brought the legislation to the floor for a vote. Harris said she has been told that is at the White Houses request.
First of all, lets be clear about the fact Russia did interfere in the [2016] election of the president of the United States, Harris told Brzezinski. Flawed though it may be, we designed a beautiful system of democracy, and one symbol of that is that we have free and open elections. When a foreign government chooses to manipulate our democracy knowing that would compromise our strength and our perception of our strength, you would think leaders would say No, we are going to do everything we can to strengthen and to give ourselves the immunity we need to be free from that kind of manipulation. Yet, its not happening.
Harris also addressed the legacy left by former President George H.W. Bush, who died Friday at 94.
He is a symbol and an example of the nobility of public service, Harris said. I didnt necessarily agree with every policy he promoted, but I completely respect and Im in awe of the dedication he gave to his country and service. What we want most in our public officials is that we respect that when they make decisions, they do it based on what they truly believe is in the best interest of other people, not themselves.
Only if YOU run, Honey. Please spare us your dopey, sleepy teenage girl vocal affectations.
She blew it when she blurted out “Mr. Chairman, Mr. Chairman!”
Stupid bitch blew it with that outburst on National TeeVee!
We the People just finished humiliating a LIEberal, venomous, noxious harridan in the 2016 election, and then ANOTHER LIEberal, venomous, noxious harridan jumps in!
She obviously did not get the memo!
Of course she’ll run. She seems to have a very high opinion of herself and is no doubt surrounded by tons of sycophants. And if she doesn’t get the nomination it’ll be “racism” despite her paleness.
I was told by another freeper that upholding the Constitution is offensive and we shouldn’t do it in order to get the black and immigrant vote.
God help us....the lady is a nutcase....the Democrat’s nut case.
Barrier Breaking
There are no systemic or cultural barriers to anybody of any group to run for the president. Conservatives will enthusiastically vote for anybody who has conservative values and who will back conservative ideals no matter what color or sex they are.
Honestly, I think Beto will be the guy. This time around the Democrats are going to be more concerned with winning rather than breaking barriers.
They'll need to win back the "Anyone but Hillary" voters and these voters loath Kamala Harris just as much as they loathed Hillary Clinton.
She is every bit as nasty and unpleasant as Hitlery Clinton. Someone described Hitlery as “America’s ex-wife”. That description would fit Kamala just as well. I feel sorry for her husband.
Of equal or greater importance my pet cockroach is deciding on whether or not to run for president on the Democrat ticket. AND the cockroach is more qualified in that it was born (well hatched) in the USA. It also has a lot better grasp of economics that that whitey hating moron from Kalifornistan.
This is well established now.
Anyone that dares to question her eligibility will be immediately deemed to be a RACIST.
That may be unfair to Hillary.
“upholding the Constitution is offensive”
That’s the level of brainwashing we are experiencing in the country right now. It’s staggering and frightening.
If it’s deemed ‘racist or offensive’ then it can be ignored or discarded.
How soon before she starts to believe that?
“election cybersecurity”
Well, you could ban connecting voting machines to the internet - but I don’t think that’s what they are talking about.
What THEY mean by “cybersecurity” is convening a panel consisting of the SPLC, LaRaza, the Club for Growth, and the Project for a New American Century to curate Facebook, Twitter, iTunes, and Google search to make sure the voters are “secure” against any non-approved messages or thoughts.
Hmmm. I just can’t imagine what she’s going to do.
The founders specifically excluded the children of foreign nationals from being President with the natural born citizen requirement.
One can only naturally be a citizen when one cannot be anything else.
Anyone born here of foreign nationals is also born something else, thus not naturally a citizen.

Did Harris cover Hillary’s collusion with Russia? I never watch Mika and the other guy so I wouldn’t know. I would, however, bet she never mentioned it.
Certainly the soroznaxi- dnc can come up with a more saleable ( if not saber) candidate than another liar about their very identity like obammy. The countrys Been there, done that. Time for a change. Someone who is at least honest about who they are. Or is this asking too much from sorozNazi and his dnc puppet machine?
Oops! I was thinking about fakeahaunches from Massachusetts. My boo boo! I never even thought of them trying to run his the young Harris woman. Since shes patently ineligible to begin with.
