ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) A 6.6 magnitude earthquake has rocked buildings in Anchorage and caused lamp posts and trees to sway, prompting people to run out of offices and seek shelter under office desks.
The U.S. Geological Survey says the earthquake Friday morning was centered about 7 miles (12 kilometers) north of Alaska's largest city.

Per USGS a 7.0 and a 5.8 a few minutes later. At around 40 km depth.
I was gonna say hillary was walking around there :(
It’s been upgraded to 6.7 due to global warming.
I know AK has tremors almost daily. I’m wondering if a mountain top is going to blow soon and this is a prelude?
I’d be worried if things go quiet.
Frequently check Drudge’s quake sheets - monitoring that Rattlesnake slide in Yakima, Washington. Still sliding, but very slowly and it’s not ‘huge’.
7.0 earthquake in ALASKA.

..more like falling down there...
wasn’t it anchorage that had the massive quake many years ago that sent a huge tsunami out?
Yes, about 1964
Alaska Ping here too.
someplace else said 7.
For those not familiar with it, this scale is logarithmic.
A 6.8 is 10 times as much as 6.7
so, a 7 is 1000 times stronger than a 6.7
LOL
Nah, if she fell we would have felt it in NY :)
But, temporary global cooling downgraded its severity to 4.8 once it came ashore....
It is logarithmic, but the whole numbers are the magnitude increase.
Because of the logarithmic basis of the scale, each whole number increase in magnitude represents a tenfold increase in measured amplitude; in terms of energy, each whole number increase corresponds to an increase of about 31.6 times the amount of energy released, and each increase of 0.2 corresponds to approximately a doubling of the energy released.
...her piss bag soften the impact..
