Republican Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith has defeated Democrat Mike Espy in Tuesday night's special Senate election in Mississippi, a contest tainted by race-related controversies, NBC News projects.

Espy’s campaign engaged in naked voter intimidation by placing nooses in public to smear Republican voters.

FEC and Justice Department should take them to task and criminally charge them.

Yellow journalism press originally claimed they were placed there by racists trying to intimidate Espy voters when it was Democrat Espy supporters who did it.
