The midterm elections did not give Democrats a singular leader to rally behind, nor did it settle ideological divides in the party. But the results can tell us a lot about the mood among Democratic voters, and what they might be looking for in a 2020 presidential nominee.
First, much hay has been made about the choice between progressives on one hand and moderates or “centrists” on the other. You could read the midterms results as vindication for the latter; outspoken progressives like Kara Eastman in Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District and Leslie Cockburn in Virginia’s 5th Congressional District fell short, while a large number of self-described moderate Democrats flipped Republican-held seats in contests across the country.

I think it's close to 70 percent. Another detail: I have also read that the statistics published by some of the racial bean-counters put into the "Hispanic" and therefore "non-white" category anyone with a Spanish surname. That drags all kinds of people into the Hispanic cohort whose families have been here since before the Civil War or the Revolution--in other words, Americans, people who speak English, and whose genetic and cultural heritage is predominantly what is called "white."
It would be great to have a source that accounts for the cultural identity of various cohorts of those referred to as Hispanic.

And yet, there are many, my cousin’s husband and my brother among them. Neither is stupid. As for suicidal, they seem to believe that the Democrats’ anti-White-Male positions are meant for OTHER White-males, not them. On the other hand, both are retired Federal bureaucrats, so I think their status as part of the governing elite (former members, at least) trumps their white-male-enemy status, in their eyes.
The difference in minority turnout between Obama and Clinton would have won 2016 for the dems. They would be nuts not to run a minority in 2020 to try to increase minority turnout.

If alleged ballot box fraud by Democrats turns out to be true as predicted, and we’ll probably never find out, I’m not convinced that election results really tell us anything about mood among Democratic voters.

The Democrat Party has been over White men, and for that matter, White women also, for a coon’s age. The problem is, that White men and White women are not through with the Democrat Party.
