THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION
During my second month of night school, our professor gave a pop quiz. I was a conscientious student and had breezed through the questions, until I read the last one: "What is the first name of the woman who cleans the school?" Obviously this was some kind of joke. I had seen the cleaning woman several times. She was tall, dark-haired and in her 50s, but how would I know her name? I handed in my paper leaving the last question blank. Before class ended, one student asked if the last question would count on our quiz grade. "Absolutely," said the professor. "In your lives, in your careers, you will meet many people. All are significant. They deserve your attention and care." I've never forgotten that lesson. I also learned her first name was Dorothy.

Be careful to live properly among your unbelieving neighbors.
1 Peter 2:12 nlt
Amy lives in a closed country where its forbidden to preach the gospel. Shes a trained nurse who works in a big hospital, caring for newborn babies. Shes such a committed professional that her work stands out, and many women are curious about her. They are moved to ask her questions in private. Its then that Amy shares about her Savior openly.
Because of her good work, some co-workers were envious and accused her of stealing some medicine. Her superiors didnt believe them, and authorities eventually found the culprit. This episode led some of her fellow nurses to ask about her faith. Her example reminds me of what Peter says: Dear friends . . . . Be careful to live properly among your unbelieving neighbors. Then even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior, and they will give honor to God (1 Peter 2:1112 nlt).
Our everyday lives at home, in our work environment, or at school make an impact on others when we let God work in us. Were surrounded by people who are watching the way we speak and behave. Lets depend on God and have Him rule our actions and thoughts. Then well influence those who dont believe and this may lead some of them to turn in faith to Jesus.
Father, help me to live in such a way that Your name will be honored wherever I go.
Our lives speak louder than our words.
Being misunderstood or falsely accused is inevitable in a broken world. But in those vulnerable moments, Peter argues, its especially crucial for believers to strive to follow Christs example of responding to suffering with love rather than lashing out (1 Peter 2:12, 21). Submitting to those with power (v. 13) doesnt mean blind obedience, but rather letting go of our natural desire to control or overpower others. And as we fearlessly display Christs love and the ways of our Lords kingdom (vv. 13, 16), God may even use us to guide others to His love.

Dear God: I ask that no Airman, Coast Guardsman, Marine, Sailor, Soldier, Reservist, National Guardsman, or Merchant Marine feel alone or forgotten.
O Israel, hope in the Lord; For with the Lord there is loving kindness, And with Him is abundant redemption. And He will redeem Israel From all his iniquities.
Psalm 130:7 & 8

I am really poor at names and it is getting worse.
Snow and wind and cold and it is not even Winter yet. I guess I can remember one name.

Good evening, mountainlion...time marches on. I’m not so hot with names either, but I’m pretty good with faces. Easy to just say “Hi”. Our current janitor is easy...she has my name. LOL!
We have the cold, but snow would be nice to cover the ice.
A Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.

He Who blessed our forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - may He bless the fighters of the Israel Defense Force, who stand guard over our land and the cities of our G-d from the border of the Lebanon to the desert of Egypt, and from the Great Sea unto the approach of the Aravah, on the land, in the air, and on the sea.
May HASHEM cause the enemies who rise up against us to be struck down before them. May the Holy One, Blessed is He, preserve and rescue our fighting men from every trouble and distress and from every plague and illness, and may He send blessing and success in their every endeavor.
May He lead our enemies under their sway and may He grant them salvation and crown them with victory. And may there be fulfilled for them the verse: For it is Hashem, your G-d, Who goes with you to battle your enemies for you to save you.
G-d bless and keep your children safe, Alouette.
