(CNSNews.com) - President Donald Trump sent out a tweet this morning calling for Republicans and Democrats to unite in enacting border security legislation that will include funding for the border wall he promised in his 2016 campaign.
Republicans and Democrats MUST come together, finally, with a major Border Security package, which will include funding for the Wall, Trump said.
After 40 years of talk, it is finally time for action, he said. Fix the Border, for once and for all, NOW!
In the current Congress, Republicans controlled both houses, but did not advance legislation to fund the border wall. In the midterm election earlier this month, the Republicans lost control of the House. A new Democratic majority will be seated in the first week in January.
In the meanwhile, Congress will be in a lame-duck session with the Republicans still controlling both houses and the Democrats having the ability to filibuster legislation in the Senate, requiring a 60-vote majority.
Some of the federal government has already been funded through all of fiscal 2019including the Departments of Defense, Health and Human Services, Labor and Education. The rest of the governmentincluding the Department of Homeland Securityis running on a continuing resolution that expires on December 7.

Well lets just see how long the Rats want to fund the costs of our military on the southern border.....which of course would fund the wall....seems to me no matter if the rats get on board securing our border or not....Trumps going to show them, and he is already, he WILL DEFEND OUR BORDER one way or another.
I love the photos of Our
Military with the Concertina.
The hypocrites Captions like
“Trump is all Bark No Bite”.
Fidiots!
I elected Trump to get this job done but I see all these people including the ones he told me to vote for in the Republican Party last election dragging their feet.
McCarthy, the GOP leader, intos a bill one month before the election on this matter.
Looks staged, looks political.
It doesn’t look real or sincere.
Tax remittances to Mexico, Central and South America.
Speaker Paul Ryan should be tarred and feathered as was done in olden days. ...He blocked numerous tries to include border wall financing in the budgets. ...Ass kisser to the US Chamber of Commerce jerks.
Border wall, stopping illegal invasion and more = never happen. What you see now is just for shoe and tell, aka smoke and mirrors. Once the Dems take the House in Jan those issues will only appear on talk shows and in forums - there will be no funding - rather there will be less if anything is different from what it is at this moment.
Yup. And when those Rats get in they’ll have an immigration bill all right. It will only include amnesty and no wall. Then the republicans will go along with it. You could see this coming. Ryano should take a long walk on a short pier.
Trump should first come up with an EO that mandates housing of illegals by each Guberment member who is for illegal invasion to set an example.
Given the choice of permanently funding the wall and fixing the border security problem through capital investment, or pi$$ing away defense funds and thereby draining the military, the Dems would choose the latter.
Because, once built the wall would always be there, even if poorly maintained and manned, during a Dem administration. Unless torn down in some paroxysm of virtue signalling, it could always be re-manned under a Republican.
Wasted money is gone forever, in true Democrat fashion. (I mean, wasted in the sense that an ongoing deployment is less efficient than one aided by a real wall/border defense.)
The wall, unfortunately will never be constructed in totality. Sad.
Should have pushed it through a year ago. It’s too late now. The RINOs will delay until the demonrats get control of the purse strings.
So soon.. gosh that’s impressive. Wasting no time as usual.
Trump could not get border wall money out of Congress when both houses were GOP. He won’t get it now. 2020 is his endurance if we take the House back and even then it likely won’t happen.
The funding will get tied into some Marxist bill that the left really wants. That’s how that sheite works in the District of Corruption.
