The parent company of Carls Jr. says it will be closing its Anaheim office and moving those operations to Franklin, Tenn., where the company is now based, effectively ending a California legacy that started when the chain was founded in 1941 in Los Angeles.
CKE, which also owns the Hardees, Green Burrito and Red Burrito restaurant brands, moved its Carpenteria headquarters to Franklin last year, blaming high taxes and a stringent business climate, factors that have driven other companies out of the Golden State.

Neo-Marxist cannot comprehend Econ 101.
Somewhere, Carl Karcher is crying ...
Democrats cant understand why businesses are fleeing CA.
Could you imagine the symbolism if the employees formed a “caravan” and drove together to Tennessee?
They do understand it - and they want to federalize/nationalize their own policies so Tennessee would be as unprofitable as California.
They leave but bring their socialist votes with them
Side note... Carl Karcher was a great conservative. He was a great supporter of the CA GOP. He was also a strong pro-lifer whose generous contributions to anti-abortion groups caught the eye of Planned Barrenhood et al. and sparked a minor boycott 30 years ago.
CA used to be a place people built dreams. Now its a state of red tape and high taxes.
More people going out than coming in. And the high cost of living is a deterrent.
True! All these small family businesses that have grown and succeeded end up as a trophy acquisition for some mega-business enterprise run by a bunch of Harvard MBAs, none of whom know $hit about the core businesses they buy.
Carl Karcher would be incensed about what his successors have done to his business.
We started buying Peet’s Coffee from Peet’s original shop across the street from the Claremont Hotel in Berkeley, CA. Then Peet started expanding, but kept the quality products for which he was noted. Now Peet is dead, and the company he started is become an very large enterprise run by the same Harvard MBA $hit that ends up taking over other successful small enterprises. So now, Peet’s Coffee isn't as good as it was before the takeover, but it's still light years better than the $hit you get as Starbucks, and at least thus far, you don't have some Secular Progressive Capo (can you say Howard Schwartz, CEO of Starbucks) using his company to purvey his politics along with $hitty coffee!
And they wont be FORCED to put a female on their board of directors.
Singing “Leaving on a Jet plane, won’t be back again” (I modified the line just a little).
Way to go Commiefornia. More jobs leaving for greener pastures and less taxes, druggies, commies, crooks, and lunatics.
Run do not walk from radical communism
They make the best low carb burger.
TN is a very attractive state to do business in.
They dont get it in Sacramento why CA sucks and their idiot liberal voters dont care either.
Government doesnt grow an economy.
Wine, weed and waves.
Thats what they want for California.
Oh, yeah!
Why do I feel this sudden urge to lick my screen? :-d)
Not that I am in their sales area, but when I went on business to CA, I checked one out, and really liked their products, and made a point on subsequent trips to at least have one meal there.
As for the commercials, I occasionally come across a mention of them, the last being the elimination of attractive babes dressed suggestively.
