After years of saying he would never run for any political office, radio talk-show host Rush Limbaugh is now open to the possibility, even if it’s the White House.
“I’m not flat-out saying no. I’m gonna have to reassess it at some point,” Limbaugh said in the final moments of his Wednesday broadcast when a caller urged him to seek the presidency once President Donald Trump has completed his service to the nation.
“I am deeply flattered,” Limbaugh said of the suggestion. “Before Trump … it would not have been possible.”
Limbaugh was acknowledging that Trump has pushed back so well against his political opponents, including the media, it has opened the door for a conservative such as himself to consider the idea.

I don’t mind rush’s women or having fun.
I broke up with him when he lied to me, was defensive about it, and then called me (and other listeners) haters because we didn’t suck up his lies like idiots.
In one little second, he went from being an admired hero in my eyes to being a phony, a lot of stuff from the past made more sense, and he just wasn’t the decent human I had thought he was. It was when he did Schumer’s bidding about immigration and didn’t respond with one of the two ways that the Rush Limbaugh Persona (that I thought was Rush) would have responded.
He came on the air after the NYT broke the story that he altered his content for the Dems, and didn’t a) say it wasn’t true at all or b) give us a mea culpa that he was awed by the big wining and dining and did them a teeny favor, apologizing for being only human.
I felt that there was no other explanation for the Rush Limbaugh he appeared to be, to come out and tell us. Instead, he came on the air that Monday morning happing mad. Defensive. And when he took his first break, he hit social media and saw how his loyal paying listeners like me were not buying it. So he came back on even angrier and called us “haters.” Boom. My love for Rush was GONE. Still have respect and gratitude for what he did for me politically and his humor and talent, but I know his depth.
See my previous post. I will always give him the credit he deserves, but I know his character now.
I’m not convinced Trump is running for re-election.
DJT had become a sort of joke Harold Stassen manque with his planted rumors of running and gestures towards setting up a Trump campaign office in the last two or three presidential elections. Pretty sure Limbaugh thought what most did that this was high grade political theater and after garner the publicity he sought Trump would one again claim business and family issues to be too pressing to continue his run for the White House. Donald Trump surprised just about the entire political spectrum. He turned out to be sui generis akin to Andrew Jackson.

The propaganda that Trump isn’t running in 2020 is a high priority talking point and it’s being spread in a very subtle way, slowly but steadily.

You’re right in that my use of the word “proves” is probably too strong.
I should have kept it to something like for me this confirms what I already believed, that Rush is controlled by the deep state.
I hadn’t thought that was a propagandized issue. Possibly true I guess.
It happened in school year 2016 -17 because I only lived where I remember this happened for that one year. It was a NYT article that came out on the weekend. We spoke about it here and waited for Monday morning for his show, and he responded right out of the gate.
The actual amnesty issue could have been earlier though, not sure which amnesty bill it was, but probably still Obama era. Rush was asked over steaks and cocktails with Schumer and ailes to stop using the world amnesty in relating to the bill, and to not mention it so much. And the NYT showed the stats of his mentions and verbiage as sharply changing to please “chuck u Schumer” right after that meeting.
So hypocritical and dishonest to us, his loyal listeners who supported him (literally) through thick and thin. For instance, I paid for his private site for YEARS without using it. Just to support him.
This is to no one in particular: Some of you have lost your minds. To consider Rush a Deep State enemy is insane. He left Rubio’s fold after the treasonous Gang of 8 debacle.

I listened to Rush for a bout 20 years, then in 2008 I first started questioning his true motives when he was talking up Romney and talking down Fred Thompson and Duncan Hunter.
Sure, Rush likely believes the conservatism he’s paid to advocate. But advancing conservatism—truly advancing it—is way down on the list for Rush when compared with earning his millions.
Earning his millions means doing what his billionaire partners want. The billionaires who sign his radio contracts.
What really gave him away was when Rush poo-pooed Trump’s candidacy right up to the election.
There is always a place where daylight touches down on that which is hidden. When Trump spoke against the deep state, Rush had no choice but to oppose him and his ultimate allegiance was revealed.
In 2015, Trump’s conservatism emerged as the most pro-American conservatism ever seen. This is because it had a real fighting spirit behind it, more than any seen in who knows how long.
When Rush was, in his usual subtle but obvious way, opposed to Trump during the 2016 election, this certified his deep state allegiance.
If you disagree, give an alternative explanation for how Rush could possibly oppose Trump?
