Obama ‘Very Confident’ He Would’ve Won Third Term
Breitbart ^ | 21 Nov 2018 | Tony Lee

Former President Barack Obama said on Tuesday that he was “very confident” he would have won a third term had the Constitution and his wife allowed him to run again. Speaking to his former top adviser David Axelrod at a live recording of the “The Axe Files” podcast at the University of Chicago, Obama said he believes voters felt that he had “taken the job seriously, worked hard, been true to my oath, observed and hopefully strengthened the norms and the rules and the values of our democracy.”

“I feel very confident that I was in a position—had it not been for both the Constitution and Michelle—to continue in office,” Obama said.

Axelrod had earlier said that some people would like Obama to serve in perpetuity and joked about some of Obama’s supporters even wanting him to run for vice president.

The former president, though, added that he is “not sure it is a healthy thing” to serve more than two terms, pointing out that in countries without term limits, “even very good people… lose their edge and get stale and comfortable in the position.”

Obama said it is “useful to have a democracy have to continually evolve.”

Had Obama been allowed to run for a third term, he would have faced off against Donald Trump in 2016. But when Axelrod asked whether Obama believed he could defeat President Trump in 2020 in a hypothetical one-on-one matchup, Obama did not take the bait.

“I will not answer that direct question for obvious reasons,” Obama said.

I agree that Obama would have beaten Trump. I am very glad that Trump is President, but IMHO we were lucky. I think Hillary Clinton was the only candidate Trump would have beaten.

What a bunch of vague, happy talk gobbledygook he oozes in summing up his eight year cluster f**k. Not one specific. And, yet, he’s probably right, since his contempt for voters in general seems well placed.

The only third term he serves I wish would be the third consecutive sentence for the crimes he and his coconspirators perpetrated on the Republic.

He’s just counter trolling because he’s trying to stay relevant as the legacy of his presidency rapidly crumbles into historical amnesia as a footnote on the US - maybe for starting the second civil war if he’s lucky.

Same could be said for Clinton and Reagan.

It could be argued that the people voted in a continuation of Reagan when we elected George H.W. Bush. Of course, he turned out not to be but that was unknown when he was elected in 1988. Neither billy jeff nor Obama got their successor elected which suggests that the country was ready for a change.

I doubt we will ever see a politician that high up prosecuted for anything.

A subsequent POTUS of their party would PARDON them and that would end that.

Therefore, it never starts.....................

...IF the Constitution had allowed it.

Hey, Barry, IF your grandmother had balls, she’d be your grandfather.

FUBO, and go away!

You’re right. With the gargantuan fix that was in any Rat in the country would have stolen that election. Any Rat politician except the Hildabeast.

They fed him the question in advance, of course.

The #FakeNews media would have continued dishonestly treating Obama-the-Traitor as if everything he did from swatting one of the many flies to hover around him to violating his oath of office was the greatest thing ever. I’m much happier watching them continue with their dishonesty as they pretend everything the best President of the United States since Ronald Reagan does is the worst thing ever.

Obama ‘Very Confident’ He Would’ve Won Third Term.

Right:
And run a 3 minute mile,
And leap tall buildings in a single bound,
And climb Mt. Everest in his jockstrap,
And capture Bigfoot barehanded,

What an ASSHOLE!

I think you are wrong. I knew Trump was going to win the day I called the gas company because I could not light my furnace. The gas man, when he arrived, talked about candidate Trump for 30 minutes while he figured out what was wrong with the furnace. He said he had never voted before but had registered to vote (he was 45-50 years old) but he was really excited about Trump. He told me that his friends and family who had just never bothered to vote either because they felt it was pointless, also were very excised about Trump. My Mexican neighbors, next door, had Trump bumper stickers on their cars, and a young black woman at work was also thrilled about Trump. The excitement and support was palpable. Everywhere I would go, I would hear people talking about Trump. I agree that in California, where the democrats are such a huge majority, that the support for Trump was very low key. But, frankly, I do not think anyone from either party could beat Trump. I think Trump’s power is actually overwhelming — if he would just use it!

Obama would have won easily. Hillary was such a gift to us, as she was the only candidate Trump could defeat. Ironically, Trump was the only candidate that would have beat her. It was truly a bizarre election.
