Chicago Public Schools this fall recorded one of the sharpest single-year enrollment declines since the districts student population began a steady downturn 16 years ago.
The 361,314 students counted on the 20th day of classes this fall represents a reduction of 10,000 students from last school year.
Thats a slightly smaller drop than two years ago, when enrollment plummeted by about 11,000 students from the preceding year. The numbers continue a long-standing trend that began in 2003, when total enrollment stood at 434,000.

Years of falling enrollment, school expansion and choice patterns have left CPS with tens of thousands of surplus classroom seats, leading officials to consider investing in even more programs to stem losses in South and West side neighborhoods.
Unlike in previous years, there will be less of an impact on the budgets of schools that saw enrollment declines. CPS opted this year to base school budgets on enrollment counts from last school year instead of this years 20th day of classes.

They’ve probably falsified the rolls for years—just for the billing.
I guess the solution is to hire more teachers, give teachers better benefits, and spend more on schools.
NEA: But Mo’ Money will solve EV’RY-TING !!
And the band played on . . .
When you abort yourselves out of existence, tax the living crap out of productive families to subsidize welfare breeders, and then import third world savages to terrorize the streets, things like this happen.
ChiCongo: Soon to be a discount Detroit.
I bet that’s about the number of kids killed or maimed on the streets of Chiraq over the past 12-18 months.
Take some of those empty schools and turn them into schools for welding , electricians, carpenters, equipment operators, plumbers etc
Abortion maybe?

ARE YOU CRAZY!? They wont stay on the DhimmicRAT plantation after that!
Chitcago continues to lose people. Just like New York, New Jersey, California (at least if you’re just counting Americans), Detroit and numerous other socialist hell holes.
Go Regulator Go!
I have such a hard time with all of this. We have jobs that need workers. We have young men who are capable of earning a good wage, having a family, buy a house and become good fathers if they only had a skill. Instead of teaching them, people want to import workers who dont speak the language and dont share our values.
I think in each of the schools that teach a skill should also teach civics.

Is that how many are shot and killed each year?

Very common sense, which means it won’t happen.
And the rest of the world laughs while we here at home—especially if our homes are in Chicago, Baltimore, or other rat run and rat infested cities weep.
We hear that the old pre-1960s America can never come back. That’s because our culture has changed, and those who made this change happen won’t change at all.
Yup. Raise taxes and give administrators bigger pensions....that'll fix the problem.
I just checked a census source which showed Chicago’s population high point was 1950 with 3,620,962 while in 2010 it was 2,695,598. One million souls less...what does that tell us?
While the number of teachers increased.
Makes a lot of sense (to idiots in a bureaucracy). Budget for fake numbers so you can borrow more money to spend. No wonder Illinois, Chicago, etc., are bankrupt.
