J.D. Ford defeats incumbent state Sen. Mike Delph (Indy suburbs)

Democrat J.D. Ford pulled off a big upset Tuesday, unseating state Sen. Mike Delph, a Republican who has served the district since 2005.

With two-thirds of precincts reporting, Ford held a 57 percent to 43 percent lead over Delph.

“I wanted District 29 to be heard and with our win tonight, they will be,” Ford told fellow Democratic supporters Tuesday night. “Now you have a voice in the Indiana General Assembly.”

Ford is thought to be Indiana’s first openly gay state lawmaker.

“Ladies and gentleman, we just made history and no one can take that from us,” Ford said.

It was a rematch for Ford and Delph, one of the Legislature's most socially conservative Republicans. Four years ago, Delph won with 54.3 percent of the vote to Ford's 45.7 percent.

Ford attributed the win to the changing demographics in the district...

TRANSLATION: "We really got out the illegal vote."

He won’t have much of a voice, since Republicans hold a super-majority in both Houses

But, demographics ARE changing Hamilton county, one of the fastest growing in the country, moving it from a 70% Republican to the mid-fifties

The local media have been running that meme since election night.

Everything’s turning blue - it’s sooo progressive. (Never year stories about the reverse or if you do it’s how the Democrats are being encroached upon or Republicans gerrymandering) frankly it’s disgusting.

There are SOME demographic changes - in my county they’ve gone after the hipster tech people using tax dollars to fund “millennial style” housing and commercial centers. That’s led to a population increase and, of course, the stupid voters.

Is an 11 day old story the best you can do?

Go back to DU with the other unwashed slobs.

Weird how commie ‘RAT voter fraud results in so many “big upsets”. Funny how that works.

So, you seem very CONCERNED. I wonder why you would post this old article, from more than a week ago, to highlight this one win by a RAT, but fail to point out that the GOP cleaned up in Indiana.

Indiana will have a State Senate that is 40-10 GOP and a State House that is 67-31-2 GOP.

They beat an incumbent Rat U.S. Senator by a healthy margin, as well.

Moreover, the partisan trend in Indiana moved strongly GOP in all but 3 Indiana counties. Even Lake County Indiana, home of Gary, swung toward the GOP.

There is only one reason to post this here. “CONCERN.”

There is no double that this is a pure “CONCERN” story.

To use Indiana is laughable. All but three counties in Indiana swung heavily toward the GOP.

Indiana will have a 40-10 Senate and a 67-31 House. The GOP knocked off Donnelly and held all their U.S. House Seats in the State.

To highlight the sole win in the one county that saw a swing toward the Rats, is utterly absurd.

Hamilton County Indiana is turning into all of the traditional Republican suburban counties. Liberal views changing the area. A lot of white suburban women are pro LGBT. It’s a simple fact.

It is concerning that Republicans are losing the suburbs. That’s concerning.

The voter fraud in this election is extreme. But unfortunately for the Democrats there are those who have been vigilant. We get to play our hand soon.

The leftist media is either what they wish were true..what they are attempting to make people believe is true ..or a flat out lie but the headline sounds good.
Any actual news is by random chance and is only there to advance their somewhat hidden agenda.

using tax dollars to fund “millennial style” housing and commercial centers

What is "millennial style" housing? Affordable apartments or condos for young single professionals? I don't see anything wrong with that, though I don't see any need for tax subsidies. The underlying issue is the erosion of marriage and the collapse in childbearing among educated young people. That's a real problem.

I should have looked at the date. Why do people post these articles 10 day after they were written? Are they testing to see if people read every detail?
