Rep.-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), made headlines when she revealed that she wouldnt be able to afford Washington, D.C. rent until her government salary kicks in.
The lack of affordable housing in Washington is no joke, but the predicament also speaks to the young lawmakers financial literacy or lack thereof. The 29-year-old didnt think to consider something as basic as the relocation expenses of a new job opportunity.
If she doesnt know how much an apartment costs, how much confidence should taxpayers have in her ability to effectively deliver trillions of dollars in campaign promises?
Ocasio-Cortez has proposed free "Medicare for All," free college tuition, guaranteed federal employment at $15 an hour and free houses for the nations poorest. These ideas have been conservatively priced at $40 trillion twice as much money currently listed on the national debt.
Its the kind of extremist proposal youd expect to hear from someone who has never made a budget, never been responsible for a business and payroll and never had taxes deducted from a hard-earned paycheck. It's the kind of proposal you've heard from Venezuela President Nicolas Maduro and Hugo Chavez before him.

I am not impressed
Idiocracy is here.
People love her. She is more frightening than Hillary. She has charisma and knows how to use it.
However, she does live rent free in some people’s heads.
Sadly this has been true for decades.
Is she more economically illiterate than George Bush, who launched on Middle East wars that have cost - according to Trump - $7 trillion?
She’s got some sort of a degree in it. Economics, that is. The illiteracy part comes naturally to her.
And she could be President someday.
That will never happen!
The woman is an illiterate dingbat, and she will self-destruct FRom sheer ignorance and stupidity long before her 15 minutes of fame are up!
Ouch. Sometimes the truth hurts. Also consider this. Are the followers of O-C really economic idiots? At least not in the short-term. They have learned that being a gimmedat maximizes their economic return in exchange for the least amount of effort. They are being rational economic beings.
On the Jeopardy Championship of Teens this evening, not one of the three contestants had the answer to: he said, a country of the people, by the people and for the people. One guessed Thomas Jefferson. The other two didnt hazard a guess. We have been screwed by the education system.
Evita....er..Alexandria needs to go to Venezuela and learn something what happens when Socialism is implemented.
Shes an imbecile. Shes going to be a goldmine if laughs for us
